I'm just happy not to have to read about Kansas City being in the mix for another team.

If they were to move to Quebec City (which was mentioned as a possibility other than Winnipeg), that move would actually be a relocation further east than Toronto.

As it stands now, moot, but does answer your question.

thanks, that answers it alright, i hadnt heard about the possibility of QC, only Winnepeg, on another note I wish Jerry R would of been able to finalize a deal for the coyotes last year, would of been a good move for the NHL and the future of the franchise and even better for jerry...

KC tried a team in the UHL with the Icehogs. It ended up only lasting a year, maybe 2 years at most.

What was odd was that the CoG council was really cryptic during the meeting...like they knew something substantial that they could not share to the public. JR is rumored to be back in the mix - maybe there is something to that?

Shortsighted, yes, you have an excellent point; however, what may happen to Jobbing and the area surrounding it? Do you remember what happened to Pontiac/Silverdome? Maybe a year makes a difference to prevent a similar obliteration? And, maybe you're right and it makes little/no difference at all and it's another 25 million simply burned.

Did they owe Jobbing 20mil regardless of the Yotes staying or going in order to keep it an operational venue for concerts and other such events? If so, what's another 5 for the prospect of potentially making it back + in the future possibly from it and surrounding businesses?

Jobbing.com and that whole area which is named "Westgate" used to revolve around Jobbing.com Arena, but when the Cardinals built their new stadium, jobbing was second fiddle. They are losing money regardless because all the big and good events go to University of Phoenix stadium....the coyotes had poor attendance for years when they built jobbing and still do...it is their own fault for giving them a new stadium knowing the chance of relocation due to poor attendance.

Not to mention that jerry Moyes who put alot of money in that stadium is going through his own financial crisis. lol

That sounds like the Kansas City Outlaws... and they folded before their first season ended iirc (turns out I probably was wrong -looks like they finished the season and folded).

Kansas City Outlaws - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

However it does appear that the marketing fanatics there have gotten to Wikipedia and "claim that hickey is still popular in Kansas City" - basing their claim upon some team in something called the "CHL".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_Mavericks

Really I can't imagine that being much of a claim for an NHL team -and if so -it would seem like towns like Peoria, Indy, Des Moines, Fort Wayne, Rockford, Grand Rapids, pretty much name it... ought to be ahead of the KC area in the queue...

actually I imagine OKC ought to be ahead of KC, not to mention Houston, and a slew of others.
