This pretty much sums up the recent traveling I've been doing, but going on my 1st cruise through Carnival. What can I expect? Looking forward to playing blackjack, staying drunk, and hopefully enjoying clear water instead of the dirt brown muck water they have here in North Carolina.

If you've gone, how was it?

I heard cruises were for the gays.

They are. Which is why I bought all the tickets once I heard that stigma was true.

I've never been on a cruise and always wanted to until all the stories of vomiting. The gays don't really bother me.

Dramamine or weed and you'll be a-ok.

What port are you departing from?

Inline with the *** theory, I went on one years ago. It was fun, the food is good (at dinner you can order more than one entree app soup, etc.). However, I didn't like the rigidity of it. I would much rather go some place and get up when I want to in order to experience it

I went on a cruise out of Miami to Key West and then some place in Mexico and then back to Miami.

Did not get sick and did not need any dramamine... was a good time... food was good... casino was fun... booze was expensive doe.... if you wanna get drunk expect to pay a pretty penny.

I won like 500$ the first night in the casino and spent most of it on a bar crawl in Key West....

Idk that I would wanna do one for more than 3-4 days.

Regular cruises are boring. There are themed cruises for whatever interests you.

I live for the live music experience. My ultimate cruise is the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise.
We are pre-booked for the Oct. 2016 cruise. 95 scheduled performances on five stages in seven days.
We would be my wife and I, who I met on LRBC 19, in 2012. I flew solo to San Juan to board the ship and the lady that was in front of me in line is cooking my breakfast as I type poolside.

The answers to every cruise question you may have are here, every ship, every port, even cabin reviews:

We have done a Disney and two Royal Caribbean cruises. Good times, good food, port calls are too short.

Buy a mouthwash bottle, cut the plastic anti-tamper off carefully with a razor, clean it, fill it with alcohol, glue the anti- tamper plastic back on, and then put it in your suitcase instead of your carry on. They will deliver your suitcase to your room for you and those bags are checked less carefully.

Oh, if you dont have a balcony room then try to upgrade now. We have stayed in an interior room and a balcony room. SO MUCH BETTER and worth the cost to have that space, view and fresh air!

New Orleans

You bought the booze package? Warning: They cut you off at like 7 drinks per day so anything after is extra. Casino will drain you if stay around a good while. My boy learned that one the hard way.

You trying to sneak booze on there? They will take any kind of alcohol you try to bring and give it back to you at the end of the trip. Pretty easy to sneak it in different things. I want to say they check for seals on drink bottles though. We use to do different things to get some booze on there. I don't know which Carnivale you are going on but my boy got back from a cruise about 6 months ago. He said it was getting kind of run down, but it may have just been a bad trip. Also, if single, usually they will be some type of group of girls. Make friends with them and hangout the whole trip. Me and my people use to do that everytime and we had some wild times.

Besides that, enjoy your time. Don't get wasted in NOLA before you go on the cruise or you may not make it. The city can make you lose track of reality. lol

We went on a royal caribbean cruise from Seward, AK to Vancouver a few years ago. It was pretty sweet mostly because we docked in the morning somewhere and could get off the boat to see stuff and do shit. I don't think I could handle a cruise that was at sea the entire time, too close a proximity to too many other people for me.

I'm not sure I could go on a carnival cruise. Too many news stories of carnival cruises turning into nightmares. And, our experience with RC was really good

Did this the last two years and loved it:

http://www.cayamo.com

Also, we figured out how to smuggle booze on board and escaped the scary big bar tab. Taking a break this year because we are saving for a British Isles trip next spring. If it wasn't for being on the cruise with friends and all the incredible live music I would have no interest in being on a cruise, though.

Also, there is the whole thing of how how overworked and underpaid the staff are. Kind of a bummer when you look right at it.
