Cub fans realized what was going to happen. Why some fans were pissed. 103 yrs of losing is old. So lets tell fans hey were going to suck for next 5 yrs so maybe we could be good again with cheap payroll

This seems to happen a lot where Castro gets a hit with nobody on or nobody scores but when the tying run is 90 feet away, he strikes out of the zone.

I would like to win this year, but it wasn't going to happen unless they spent at an unprecedented level. And the window for that team would have been quite small.

And if they can't compete, what good are the marginal wins that get you out of a protected pick position and still can't get you into the playoffs?
It sucks to be a bad team. But there's always a silver lining if they use the suckiness wisely.

I am guessing Stewart's wrist hasn't been right all year to be honest. There was talk about Stewart playing through wrist problems and not being worried about it in Spring Training, and we all know through the experiences with Derrek Lee just how long those wrist injuries can linger and affect performance.

What else is out there at 3B D3A? There are really only what 5-10 guys in baseball that can really field and hit like a 3B from the past decade or so right now.

I've often wondered what was wrong with Marquez Smith when he was tearing it up the past couple years that they didn't want to call him up. In fact I don't even think he's in the Cubs system anymore but I haven't checked, but he might have been a good 2B/3B option had they bothered to try. Or maybe the scouts knew something we don't know (always possible since fans don't have all the information).
