So yea Fukudome is player B... He was the better player. Fans didnt like him cause of money given out. There way to much LOVE for a DeJesus who is a 4th OF. Not his fault but because of it i cant stand the guy . Plus he a pretty boy and i think that pisses me off to. I would do his wife so hard though

Not saying i take Fukudome now over DeJesus. Saying DeJesus not that good of baseball player. He a 4th OF that starts on crappy teams. Amazes me how fans love DeJesus but hated on Fukudome.

I don't necessarily believe it was because of the money handed out to Fukudome as much as the expectations seemingly placed on him were that of an Ichiro with more pop in his bat. That didn't happen obviously.

expectations came with the money. DeJesus only got like 12 mil so not much expectation but gets loved on for how he plays. Fukudome played same way and a bit better

The difference is no one expected a championship caliber team with the DeJesus signing. And agreed that Fukudome was a bit better.

Peter Gammons talked to a GM who described Fukudome as "a cross between Ichiro and a young, healthy Mark Kotsay."
