Been slow around here. This is some of the stuff I am reading on bleacher report and twitter.

Hoyer spoke and pretty downplayed anymore big moves this off season. He said Schwarber is leaning out and running a lot. He is the everyday left fielder. Szczur probably will be the back up CF, but Baez looked great in a small sample size this winter in center. The Cubs hold Baez as great value. They plan on playing him all over the diamond and OF. Seems to be alluding that we will see Baez a lot this year.

He talked about the bullpen having so many swingman. He likes that he doesn't just have specialist. Rondon is the closer but Maddon will always play the hot hand.Seem to alluded to the reason for the swingman are because of Hammel, Hendricks, Arrieta wearing down. They will be able to remove them easier. They are also having them start throwing later in the spring to take some of the wear off them.

Heyward and Zobrist were brought in to up the contact rate without sacrificing offense. Hoyer thinks they really need those guys for the early months when it is cold and the ball will not be flying out. Thats basically all he said. Some other little rid bits but nothing of big importance.

Sandberg is back as a Cubs ambassador.

Ricketts called Mets fans really obnoxious so that should not make any headlines or anything.

Heyward chose the Cubs because he told Ricketts, "He wants to play for a winner." Ricketts said that is the first player to tell him that.

Trevor Cahill turned down a 2 year contract in Pitt as a starter to stay with the Cubs.

The Cubs and Arrieta are 5.5 million off in arbitration. Errata asking 13 million. Cubs came in at 7.5 million.

The head games are already beginning. The Cubs had Heyward and Ryan Dempster read mean tweets from Cardinal fans. They also put Lackey picture on the screen wearing a Red Sox jersey and not the Cardinals.

Interesting that pretty much within hours of Hoyer saying no more big moves the Tampa Bay talk heats up. Some of that seems to be pointing at Blake Snell. Yes please.

The Ricketts quote was pretty dumb. I've already heard from every Mets fan I know.

Theo and Hoyer had the same sentiments on no big moves. But, you are correct that I read the same reports. Maybe Theo and them are downplaying it because they seem pretty adamant on not trading Baez or Soler at this point.

I've heard from no Mets fans regarding the Ricketts quote. Then again I didn't know the Mets had fans.

I think it was funny. He knew what he was doing. Funny thing is Mets fans can't really retaliate strongly without proving him right.
