The Astros are one loss to the Cards away from being eliminated from the division, but the Cubs amazingly still have an E# of 11, and it's 20 for the wild card. Given this information, and the rest of the season schedule (also check our contest thread and the below link for our small giveaway), when do you think the Cubs will be officially eliminated from playoff contention?

As of right now the Cubs could potentially be eliminated from division race this weekend but it will take at least another week before they are completely eliminated as the wild card E# is 12.

The Reds are winning at the moment which means the Cubs could be eliminated from the division race tonight.

Cubs eliminated from division race. Wild card E# would go to 9 if they lose today.

E# now at 3. If the Cubs can hold on to make the Pirates squirm and STL loses a couple they may survive the weekend.

Cards lose again. This means with the E# remaining at 3, the Cubs can't be eliminated until at least Monday. Since the Astros suck so hard, maybe not even Monday :D

The Brewers are threatening to sweep the Cardinals, just tied it in the 9th and hoping to force extras at least. Cubs may not be eliminated until Tuesday or even after the Astros series :shifty:

Brewers are trying to get back in the race. A bit too late for that... but I can admire the effort.

Never too late, especially now with the extra wild card. They could be this year's version of last year's Rays and Cards. Or the 2007 Rockies.

Well, I say it's a bit late since they gave up Greinke. If they'd played up to their potential all year, they'd be easily in the race... if not atop the division.
