I hate you.....

but seriously so he said he will not sign big names, he wants to grow people to the farm. with that being said, is Wilson, fielder, or any real names to be honest a realistical option?

Why, because I stated my opinion?

I hope to see Fielder on the team still but it sounds like if anything, he would lean towards spending money on pitching right now.

I don't see any big FA signings. Sounds to me like the focus will be on the farm system and the draft. Building a team from the ground up. That's a nice approach and I applaud Theo for that, but you can't expect to have a consistent winner solely on the players you bring up through the minors. Just look at some of the guys the Cubs have now who've been brought up and haven't panned out. Colvin stands out in my mind. You just never know with some guys, so IMO free agency is still a legitimate route to fill holes on your team. It takes a balance of building from within and adding the necessary pieces through free agency to construct a winning team on a yearly basis.

From everything I saw yesterday.. Presser and individual shows after..

His focus once he has his staff in place and figures out all of his rankings of the Cubs system. He and Hoyer will be making some swift changes. He called it something similar to building assets in any way possible.

It sounds like Ricketts has given him plenty of flexibility to cut large contracts also. Which watching CTL it seemed like he was leaning toward in one or two cases.

I'm sure we will throw our hat in the ring for Pri-jols.. whichever is available.

Could someone please tell the Tribune/media outlets that Epstein is not the second coming of Frank Chance. For a week now, the Hawks have been kicked to the back of the sports page while Chicago apparently celebrates a Cubs title 5 years in advance.

Same shit today, only the Hawks actually grabbed a small corner of the front page.

No NBA and a bye week leaves little else to write about in Chicago. Or maybe I'm just tired of hearing about the soap opera on the Northside...particularly when I still pay for home delivery.

Yep, that's it...this sports page looks like opening day.
