Not the first time the Rangers decimated a Chicago team which finished second for a FA. See ARod
I'm pretty sure that the Cubs finished farther back than 2nd...

It actually took me a second to decipher this joke lol, I feel dumb now

fisch.
And who the **** is Captain Obvious?
A poster
I think you guys made him re-rage quit
remember the following:
Randy Wells is good due to FIP
Adam Dunn is coming to the Cubs
Prince Fielder is coming to the Cubs
Albert Pujols is coming to the Cubs
Soriano is good due to Range Factor and UZR
Soto is better than Mauer
Soto is a beast & Wells is "unlucky".
Well yeah ... that's too obvious.
You can't always look at BABIP or LOB% and cry "luck". Sometimes the guy just sucks and the BABIP and LOB% is because he's giving up line drives all over the place.
Want to see lucky? Look at Soto's 2007 BABIP

Not the case with Wells. In 11, his LD% actually decreased from 10. This season was his first season that it was above 20%. Last year he gave up more fly balls, but it was not a great percentage change. What got him was that his HR/FB rate was off the charts at 13.8%. HR/FB rate is about as lucky/unlucky as you can get, as there is virtually no correlation from year-to-year.
Now, with that being said, I think that is due to the fact that he "forgot" how to throw his fastball last year. He only threw it less than 49% of the time and the average speed was only 88 MPH. Both significantly down.
also if you are back can you bring poodski back? I want to hear more about Soriano and I really want to hear more about how fukudome is better than carlos quentin. go team!
