What better time is there to start hitting with RISP than mid-September when you're 18-games under .500?! :D

I thought we traded Fukudome so Colvin would be able to play more, yet he plays less now then he would have even if Fukudome was still here.

Who know with the Cubs. It's probably just Quade. Also he hasn't exactly been consistent this year, which may have to do with lack of PT?

Quade has to juggle the veterans, Bryan LaHair, and give Tony Campana some token gritty/scrappy/white guy starts, so there's that. But Colvin should rotate in more.

Of course, Quade also wants to catch the Pirates, so y'know

I think next year's draft pool is supposedly sucky, but it's still early. I'd be okay with a top 10 pick though. Even if everything's shit, you at least want the chance to pick the better shit.

Ehh.. I don't always believe all of the "this years class is gonna suck" stuff in nearly every sport.

Sure you get some random years where there's a lot of busts but those are very far between.

Oh, I just meant that this year you had names like Anthony Rendon, Gerrit Cole, Bubba Starling etc. who were about as can't-miss as you can get. The guys picked in the first round are the ones who are least likely to suck, even though they can and most likely will at some point suck  Looking forward, there aren't that many can't-miss names on my radar or anyone's radar that I can tell, but I'm sure it'll ramp up closer to next season.

The 2010 Cubs really should've tanked. Damn you Quade

That's how it always works..

Even most people that follow the draft don't know most of the names till January.

I think there were a good load of kids that people knew of in 2010 before Quade's magical run of win. It was more pronounced than this year. That's all I'm saying. We'll have to wait and see.
