Villar 4/5.
Suzuki 2/3
Heyward 2/4
Wisdom 3/4. Figures. K rate 40% still

I was looking over the team and Frazier was sitting under 20% on strike outs and over 10% on walks.

I really think that he needs a chance to play full time and not leading off.

Mad is around 7% walks and strike outs. So 86% of his PAs the ball is going in play. Why not lead off with him. He seems like the Hussle type.

So
Mad
Villar
Contreras
Happ
Suzuki
Schwindel
Heyward
Frazier
Hoerner

Going by the numbers this line up should keep the ball in play and keep strike outs down.

Regardless the team is still hitting and generated runs. It really comes down to the starter for the most part.

Funny how Steel has been the most stable starter of date.

Maybe there are reasons why Leiter haven't pitched in the majors since 2017. He is not a starter, put him in relief role.

I hope they send him back down. Might as well have Chavez and Norris screw his next game up and find a better use of a roster spot.

Not much of a sample size here but thus far Smyly has a 60.0% ground ball rate. His career rate is 36.7%. When you consider he has always been a guy with good K/BB rates, if he can cut down on homers via ground balls he could be a big addition.

He added a split grip change up last spring. It came out of his hand better than the circle change did. So he is showing a different look this year. It is a bit early still to have a good feel. One bad game changes everything.
