nice shot.

The sox dont really have to worry about their finances by the way, ownership with JR is pretty damn solid as far as financial backing. He isnt just the owner of the sox and bulls, he is involved in many businesses. JR is much more stable financially and is indeed more liquid.

but hey, its all about the popularity contest.

Il take my 1 2005 championship over hot chicks in the bleachers, sell outs, wrigleyville and ronnie woo woo

You have a championship trophy? Wow thats pretty impressive. Or do they give one to each of the dozens of fans that were there to start the season.

You can have ronnie woo woo I will take the rest.

If you really want the fans, the wrigleyville experience, the hot chicks in the bleachers over a trophy you are not a fan. period.

sorry that you hate the fact that I have experienced my team winning a world series.

WS trophy> anything else. but again....its about being popular. whatever respect i had for you is gone after this post.

Yeah, the casual fans may go in for the atmosphere and what not when they have random disposable income, but if they want to sell out the ballpark, they need to:

A) put a winning team on the field
B) improve the ballpark experience

I don't give a shit if they play in a sandlot or a rock quarry, I just want the team to win. If the team wins, the fans will come, bandwagon or otherwise. If they lose, well...they'll have to keep trucking in Brewers and Cardinals fans to sell out the place.

I personally don't care about the White Sox until interleague play. As I've said elsewhere, the White Sox haven't mattered directly to the Cubs in a significant way since the 1906 World Series. Which the Sox won, BTW.

Maybe it'd be better for Cubs fans to realize that it's not a popularity contest and forget about what the White Sox are doing. The Sox have their own problems trying to get back into the AL Central race. Yeah, we'll bicker and rib each other next week during the Crosstown BP Cup whatever thing, but at the end of the day it's just six games out of 162 and your attention should be focused on what the Cubs can do going forward, not whether Wrigley Field can sell out the Cell.

Just an opinion.

I would change every piece of Cubs' "tradition" for a World Series title to the North side.

I know changing "tradition", in reality, has no effect on the team one way or the other but I'm just saying...

I'd trade Wrigley Field ANY day for a World Series title.

I think there's a temporal causality loop that requires the Cubs to win a World Series before they have enough money/goodwill to build a new Wrigley, but they might need a new Wrigley to free up cash to build a better team, and it goes in circles...

They need to build a new stadium because their current one is ran down and in the middle of a neighborhood.

The neighborhood is an issue. I don't like how they can dictate how many night games the Cubs can play and, since Wrigley isn't going anywhere any time soon, the neighborhood could limit ownership on what they can do to renovate Wrigley such as expansion, or parking garages etc.
