Thank you. My favorite backup defensive spot-starting outfielder is back.

So OF depth is:

Soriano
Byrd
DeJesus
Reed

Then...

Campana
LaHair
Some other scrubs I don't care about

I think they're keeping Brett Jackson down to suppress MLB service time so he doesn't attain Super Two. He'd probably be up by June or whenever they trade Byrd (if that's the plan).

I really want to see BJax, but nothing wrong with letting him get a little more minor league experience, can't hurt too much, other than AAA pitching being rather devoid of pure talent as opposed to AA.

Glad to see Reed coming back. He's one of my favorite players on the team. Love the way he plays the game.

He's a solid guy off the bench, of course I'm going to be happy that we have him... not saying it's huge, but it's nice to have him back.

I think he gets a deal that maxes out around $3MM which buys you a fraction of a win. Reed can probably outperform that.

Ehhh, I don't know. Last year was his 2nd best year with the bet. Which is pretty pathetic.

You're not paying him to be a superstar. $3MM is about half a win over replacement that you're betting he produces. Reed has shown he can do that over the course of his career. He's not a superstar, but he can play all OF spots and he can hit against LHP. Keep the salary down and it's a solid deal.
