no, I still hate him. but his bat is better than morel.

problem, PK is still getting fluid drained and is still the DH. The corners with Dunn and Aramis could be funny bad

Yeah but you guys need the bat.. almost at any cost.

I hope Ramirez does not agree to any of this.

Wait has anyone actually reported that the Cubs won the waiver claim for Floyd? Just was thinking about it but why on earth wouldn't have Cleveland, Detroit, New York, or Boston claimed Floyd?

Maybe they figure Floyd isn't as big of a threat to them right now.

That's what I'm thinking but those teams arn't big on Floyd and really don't want to put a claim in him. That's what I assume.

Also, maybe Floyd was put up longer and the Cubs did win the claim or something. I can see that happening too.

Hard to imagine him going through the AL Central, then the rest of the AL, and then getting passed up by Houston and any other team that may or may not be worse than us (San Diego?).

You really mean to tell me that a team that has Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon as two starting pitchers and burns piles of money for fun wouldn't take the chance on Floyd? Waiver order goes in terms of league first, so that means all the AL teams would have to have passed. And I don't see how teams like the Tigers and Yankees that are desperate for pitching wouldn't claim him.

I really don't think our pitching is bad enough to warrant getting rid of our best bat & I don't think our offense is good enough to get rid of our best bat... at really any cost. I like that Floyd is young and what not, but I don't know... This is a toughie.

After a brief moment of excitement at the possibility of a move that makes some sense for the Cubs, the reality of the fact that this is a nonstory has set in.

ya im reluctant to give up aramis as well..what i hope is that the sox package another player or some prospects in the offer to make it seem more even

but we damn sure need some help pitching wise

we lost Z and now all we have thats solid is Demp and Garza and then some relative question marks

we are 2nd to last to the astros in ERA,WHIP,

3rd to last in SO/BB

our pitching is not very good right now...of course you have to factor in some of the injuries and what not..but still...

CO, I don't know our rotation's FIP, but it's ERA has been terrible.

Granted we had Russell/Davis going for a while... but now that Z is gone, Lopez kind of has a spot unless we do something about that.

I'd do it... Rami's a FA anyway and doesn't have too many more years left in him... I really want to know who our 3B would be though, assuming that we don't sign Rami back.

Yeah, we should do nothing about that rotation. That's the answer.

Russell/Davis/Lopez won't be in the rotation and I would even extend that to Casey Coleman, probably. None of them were in our rotation to start the year, but injuries happen. That's why we are where we are.

I agree injuries are the reason the Cubs are this bad, but the Cubs were pretty bad to begin with.

And since then Z has left and Cash has been injured, somebody has to step in for Z next year, and none of our minor leaguers will be able to do that, we have to get somebody this off-season IMO...

the cubs rotation is pretty bad, anyone who thinks otherwise is blind. They need to build a staff.

again-

1) empty
2) Garza
3) dempster ( whatta think you are going to get? old demp? please)
4) wells (bad)
5) cashner or some other fill in

that is pretty bad. pitching has to be addressed.
