After a 1-7 home stand, the Cubs will visit Washington for a 3 game set vs. the Nationals. Today will be the first game under Mike Quade after Lou Piniella step down because of his ailing family members.

Pitching matchups:
Monday: Casey Coleman (0-1, 782era) vs. Livan Hernandez (8-8, 3.06era)
Tuesday: Carlos Zambrano (4-6, 4.97era) vs. John Lannan (5-5, 513era)
Wednesday: Ryan Dempster (11-8, 3.56era) vs. Jason Marquis (0-6, 11.39)

Series Notes:
*Geovany Soto was activated from the DL today and Welington Castillo was sent down. Castillo had 2 starts because of SUCKY Hill...what a waste for him.
*Micah Hoffpauir was called up and Sam Fuld was sent back down.
*Tyler Colvin is expected to play 1B in this series.
*Bob Dernier joins Cubs coaching staff and will be the Cubs 1st base coach. Ivan DeJesus will move from 1B to 3B as the coach.

Nice hr by DeWitt. 1-0 Cubs.

Castro with a 1B, average up 1 point from yesterday. .317.

Byrd is OK after getting hit by ball. That's good.

Livan lost his command, with walking Ramirez and Nady (well HBP but it was ball 4) after the HBP to Byrd.

Bases loaded 1 out. C'mon Colvin!
