My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Cardinals 4 9
Pirates. 7 5
Mets 7 0
Nationals 4. 3
Dodgers. 2. 3
Giants. 5. 2
Royals. 1. 1
Twins. 2. 1

Overall 32. 24
They wouldn't go 7-0 against the Mets now, since the Mets seemed to finally put it together.

depends on the match up. If the Pirates are using Lirano you are losing Montero anyways so pitch Lester then. If they go with Cole then don't waste Ross on a RH pitcher. Use Arreta then

Not that hard to figure

I hope I am reading this right. Even if the Pirates pitch Liriano (which they won't), the Cubs will have Ross catch. He will catch Arrieta and Lester unless a lefty is pitching which won't happen here.

I don't care what people think, the Cubs are crazy to even contemplate throwing Lester in one game playoff with as much speed as the Pirates have.

You also have to figure that Arrieta helps to negate some of the Pirates strength because Cutch, Ramirez, Marte, Mercer, Cervelli, Morse, and Harrison all bat from the right side.

The Cubs should have enough time barring a collapse to put the rotation together that they will head to Pittsburgh with, and the same goes for them.

It will probably be Arrieta versus Cole.

Two guys going for the Cy Young award

At this point it would be madness to start Lester of Arrieta regardless of matchup. He has played his way into a Cy Young race which most had wrapped for Greinke in July. He has been the very definition of stopper. He is your best pitcher period and the beauty of it is if he wins the game it sets up for Lester, and all his playoff series experience to start game 1 of the NLDS. This debate really should be over.

If cubs can pre arrange their rotation at season end and set up for the playoffs, their best move is to have Arrieta in WC and Lester start game 1 against SL..

Lester will get 2 or 3 starts against SL who dont hit well against lefties.. only down part about needing Arrieta in the WC game is that he will only be available for 1 game against SL which would be game 3..
