Cutler looks like he is grasping Martz complex offense...he's getting sacked a little bit...but the picks are way down and he's going to his 2nd or 3rd receiver to get a 1st down, instead of forcing the ball way down the field and running when being pressured.

Cutler is succeeding despite Martz's offense. Martz's offense has managed to be worse than Ron Turner's was last year, and many of the hallmarks of a bad Martz offense are there. The sack total is through the roof, and the running game is near the bottom of the league. That Cutler won't finish with 20+ INTs is a testament to his development as a more complete QB. I've been a doubter of Cutler for some time, and I still am in many ways, but this season is evidence that he could be a real franchise guy.

I'm amazed how many people claim Trent Dilfer's opinions are meaningless and then complain about them for a week.

Martz is finally figuring out how to utilize Cutler and design plays for him. It's hard to believe that it took so long for him to figure out that it's not a good idea to call long-developing plays requiring seven-step drops if you don't have an offensive line. Martz has started calling more rollouts/bootlegs and has mixed in more short throws to beat the pressure.
