Chase is exactly what you look for in a backup QB. A guy who can step in and make the offense move on few reps.

Regardless of how bad Mitch might play this season I give him all year. Bears need to figure out if he is the one or if they need to go looking again next off season. The worse thing they can do is commit the next 4 seasons to Mitch faithfully.

After the Cinci preseason game, I was told he was shit, another wasted Pace QB contract and that Bray was better. I laughed then. I'm laughing now.

There won't be a QB controversy until at the earliest the last few games of the season if Trubisky continues to be bad. QBs drafted second overall are always going to get more chances than their play merits. Pace might be a shitty GM but he's not going to commit career suicide by acknowledging his mistake until it's absolutely necessary. Hopefully it never comes to that. Steady progress is needed throughout the year.

Were'nt most of you bashing Daniel after the 1st preseason game? Now, you all love him?

What I'e learned is that if Trubisky can't operate this offense like Daniel did yesterday, then it's time to start looking for another qb. The system is not the excuse. Just means our qb sucks

Why do you think the Chiefs did not gameplan "all week"? What reason is there to doubt they practiced installing a gameplan like every other team?

Nagy, who served on Chiefs coach Andy Reid's staff both in Kansas City and Philadelphia, called his former boss earlier in the week to let him know about the plan.

"The last thing I wanted was for him to see that all of the sudden we show up out on the field and we got our twos out there," Nagy said. "That's not going to happen, I'm not going to do that, and I let him know just out of pure respect. He's the very first person that I called to tell. So I felt a lot better when I did that, and I know how he is. He respected that and appreciated that."

Don't know if Reid gameplanned or not but he was told early in the week that the 2s would be playing. Nagy actually told Reid before he told his team as the team found out Friday.

And nothing, I already said we don't know if Reid gamplanned. However, Reid knew from the start of the week that the Bears would not be playing their starters so he had ample time to take that into account. It would be quite another thing if he didn't find out until game day as then he would have no opportunity to take that into account.

Given how both Daniels and Daniel played today, I'm thinking we have a Centre and QB controversy on our hands. Daniel just raped his old team going 15-18, 198 yards and 2 TDs. Daniels was out there pancaking people too. Sit tight and buckle up gents, if Trubniskies/Whitehair don't ball out then we have some great "backups" that would start on a lot of teams.

Your post is why everyone other fandom calls us Bear fans retards. You know that right??

I was driving back from Chicago and heard all these dumbshits calling up the Score with this bullshit. I thought 2 weeks ago you all wanted him run off the team for being shit in that game???

What is the obsession with Bears fans to always want the back up to be the starter???

This is why I can't tell people I'm a Bears fan. Cause our fanbase is so damn stupid. Like all the time.

We're going to sit our #2 overall pick franchise QB in favor of a career backup. Good plan!

I was going to respond to several posts in here, then decided it is not worth the trouble. Yours is the most accurate post in the thread.

There are a lot of posts in this thread about how the premise of the OP is insane and the board has gone nuts.

They're right because there's zero way there's going to be any QB controversy. the idea is absurd.

But let's make one thing clear - the reason, and the only reason there won't be a controversy is because Trubisky was a second overall pick and the guy everyone's jobs are tied to. If these were just two guys of similar status and the best man got the job, there absolutely would be a real and definite battle and I highly doubt Trubisky would win it on merit. He isn't good.

That is a bit much Bearmick. Daniels has looked like shit in other games and you don't know what is going on in practice. The fact is Trubs didn't play in this game precisely because he apparently impressed enough to practice to get the day off.

There is nothing in Daniels history to date that suggests he is a starting QB in the NFL. No one has ever saw fit to give him such a role and that certainly factors into things. In fact, Mike Glennon had a better history and we saw how that turned out.

Maybe if you also discount age.

And what merit? Daniel has 78 pass attempts in his entire 9 year career.
Or are you basing this merit on this preseason, where Daniel has played much more that Trubisky? And people were not exactly throwing roses at Daniel's feet after the previous games.

Not sure why I am asking, we all know what your answer will be.
