His performance on the second-to-last drive was beyond bad.

lol super scout OP here calling wright a colossal bust because he missed one play on 4th down, thats why they lost right? arent you the same person that said the panthers would be good this season with bryce young?
Also a monsoon of penalties and blown blocks. He hasn't had a single good week.

One of the NFL analysts in twitter blasted that playcall and the blocking assignments on it. I’ll have to find it

Nah man, I’m told that even if he’s just serviceable for years to come, it’s still a great pick! 👍

What did the Bears give up to get him again?

Sure did

The Bears are just trash with extremely little room for potential improvement. The Panthers are good with a ton of potential to be great.

The Panthers are overall good enough to still win eight or so games even through their rookie quarterback's growing pains. Not unprecedented in these times.

Top five defensive line. Could easily have a top five offensive line. Pretty good secondary. Mediocre to bad in terms of weapons, but weapons don't really matter for the level the Panthers are at and they can win their division then lose in the first round very easily with the guys they have. Though there is such thing as the trade deadline and if they're sitting at three or so games above five hundred there will be players available for them to add.

The best teams they play all year are the Vikings, Dolphins, Jaguars, Cowboys and Giants. Everyone else on their schedule is trash. And I suspect at least two of those teams will wind up being trash this year too.

The argument seems to oscillate between "they might have a good roster in a bad division but they can't win with a rookie quarterback" to "it doesn't matter what Bryce Young does since they have such a bad roster" depending on whats convienient to explaining how they are headed to a five win (or whatever) season.

Here's what I know: Derrick Brown and Brian Burns are one of the better pass rushing pairings in the league and they are average with the potential to be quite good at cornerback. I'm not sure they are quite elite at offensive tackle right this instant, but if they hit on Ikem Ekwonu and he plays up to his draft position and Taylor Moton doesn't fall off a cliff they probably have one of the three, if not the overall, best bookend tackles in the NFL. They are pretty good on the interior line too.

They aren't perfect. There are some weaknesses at wide receiver especially. But this team is no worse than last years Steelers or the year before's Patriots. In fact it is signficantly better at the positions which really matter. Frank Reich might not be Mike Tomlin or Bill Belichick, but he did an overall admirable job in Indianapolis considering the hand he was dealt.

I'm not saying the Panthers win the Super Bowl. I am saying they are pretty clear favorites in a bad division and probably rack up ten-ish wins just because they are among the NFL's best teams at both protecting and attacking the quarterback.

These guys are so desperate to find everything I was wrong about. So what? Lmao. Its the computer, who cares. I call em like I see em, sometimes I am wrong. Wasn't wrong about the Bears.

Right but then when others are wrong you make a point of calling them out right so turnabout is fair play.
