I think this is a good opportunity to see if DeWitt can cut it. For whatever reason DeWitt isn't walking a lot this year either though.

i wouldnt go that far...They have the most errors in baseball again also. I would rather see defense improved first

that's a whole different facet entirely. i was speaking directly on the topic of hitting.

2011 CHC .318 18th

2010 CHC .320 21st

2009 TEX .320 24th

2008 TEX .354 3rd

2007 TEX .328 22nd

2006 TEX .338 12th

2005 TEX .329 15th

So besides 2008 his team is in bottom halve in OPB...... Wouldnt call him one of the best hitting coaches...Both of these teams play in hitters ball parks

Are you kidding me? DeWitt is every bit the prospect that Barney is. In fact, he's still a better one, as he once was extremely, extremely highly thought of, and those are the types of guys that sometimes put it together in their mid 20's. They are the same age. Literally three months separate them.
LOL at you trying to argue with me over the definition of a prospect.

Blake Dewitt's been in the majors for 3 years now. Barney just got there last year.

He should've been starting every day in MLB the moment he was called up instead of being benchrot. If they were going to make him a bench player, they should've just shipped him to Iowa and let Bobby Scales come up.

Blake Dewitt's been in the majors for 8 years now. Barney just got there last year.

DeWitt hasnt even hit ARB yet...will be for the first time this offseason...only 2+ years in MLB..DeWitt was a better prospect then Barney and thats why he was up at a younger age then Barney. Barney never really been a prospect more of back up IF spot. ON a GOOD team Barney does NOT start at 2B. He would be a utility player. For a BAD team like the Cubs he is a starter.

at the end of the day, Barney and Dewitt are both average at best. production-wise at the plate, but Barney's glove is much better.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Dewitt wasnt in the majors at age 17.
