Hey, good for Mills. Based on his draft profile, sounds like the biggest knocks were lack of experience (only 11 starts) due to injuries and mobility. Apparently, he always had good arm talent.
As far as the game today, just looking at the stats, it appears that the Texans have had really good balance to the offense and mostly managed to keep out of 3rd and long. When they have been in 3rd and long, they stall out. They are averaging 4.8 yards per carry...and actually have more runs than passes. So, smart offense, staying ahead of the chains, generally giving your young qb a chance to just execute the offense and not asking him to be a hero every single drive to keep the drive going. You know, what you should be doing to work with a young qb that has arm talent and putting him in a position to be successful.
When you contrast that to the Bears, I think one of the really big differences is just how undisciplined the Bears are as a team and how often the Bears are playing behind the chains either due to penalties, bad execution, and/or just dumb playcalling. It feels like so many good plays get wiped out by dumb penalties. Or, they are in 3rd and short/medium, then someone false starts making it 3rd and long, etc.
