I dunno, in that article Stern did say something about next week moving stuff along. They are really moving this thing forward though. We do just hope it continues in the right direction. Notice Terry pretty much said it wasn't quite what the players are looking for. That alone leaves room for flexiablity between the two groups. I'm not so sure they will straight up walk away. More than likely it's the players form of "ultimatum" this time. Who knows though, right?

yeah I wonder how the players will be feel about a condensed 72 games schedule.

talk about fatigue

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the league try this out. You figure that players still practice, workout and wear themselves out between games. So wouldn't this mean that we have less time for designer play-sets, and more games where teams are forced to adjust on the fly? It might make for good basketball. Worrying about health doesn't change as much, because the playing field still remains level.

Well, we wait til Monday and/or Tuesday to hear the official decision. If it doesn't develop into something these two whining parties can agree on then I'll worry more.

Stern can claim 72 games all he wants. But a lot of those dates are booked with other events (concerts, other sports, etc).

That would be interesting.

But it would suck for the older players.

Like last season, for example, Kobe didn't practice as much as the rest of the team and even took practices off so he can stay fresh for games. I'm sure Boston has done the same with KG, etc.

No Stern has said they have been in constant contact with the areas telling them to hold off booking new stuff on certain dates,. Im sure the NBA can get creative and make it work.

Yes keep all your dates for us and don't make any money. He can call but they are not likely to abide

Very true. But it would be somewhat level still. Teams that are young don't have the experience, but the older teams would have to rely on younger players to take up minutes. It would be interesting to see, almost interesting enough to get more people to tune into games and see how each team adjusts.
