"Ratliff went ballistic, this player said, and was asked to leave practice. He departed but later returned. Practice was stopped and most players went off to the side while a small group of players and coaches tried to calm Ratliff down and get him to leave.

It didn’t work initially. Ratliff destroyed the game clock on the practice field, smashing it and kicking it. Later, he shoved an assistant coach to the ground. While all of this went on, Trestman never intervened. He just stood off to the side and watched.

And this is the most incredible part. The uber-enabling part. Not only was Ratliff never punished by Trestman...he was named one of the captains the next day. The entire locker room was incredulous."

The player-witness told Freeman that this is what caused Trestman to once and for all lose the respect of the locker room.

In the last week of the season?

Remember when the season ended and Marshall said he wanted Trestman to be his coach for the rest of his career? LOL.

Well it's a nice freedom to have a coach that makes you the #1 target most of the time, lets you do player press conferences about details about yourself, and doesn't punish you for anything like heckling fans.

Hiring Emery and him picking Trestman over Arians could possible be the dumbest blunder for an organization full of them.

Probably worse than trading for Mirer and/or the Dave Mcginnis disaster

Misleading title- Trestman lost the locker room long before the last game of the year- when the Ratliff blow up occurred.

That is sad. However, perhaps the assistant was Eric Kromer, and he thought this was a sign that he was not with Kroner but the players. Although, going ape shit and being called captain is nuts

On a side note, I don't understand this board. OP brings a post with substance about the Bears, which is also humorous and no one thanks him.

However, Tribar creates a fluff thread and Grimson/HHM (RIP) creates a thread that is nearly identical but with words changed because there is some weird game of tickle tits going on between them and both get numerous likes.

Oh well can't change that. I was just thinking out loud because I found it odd.
