We kind of need a mix of both because if you have a 3-point shooter that can play D it will open up the middle for Drose to create! But that being said no one respects Bogans 3 at all! And D Rose seems to be just fine

I think the best candidate is JR Smith he plays good D he can create his own shot and shoot the 3 he is streaky and has off court issues but we have high character guys and a good coach I think JR would lock in if he knows we can compete for a title..

And the streaky part doesnt scare me because how streaky is Bogans?? He is always more off than on

I think he can hit open jumpers at a higher rate the Bogans so they will have to give him more attention...

To me JR Smith and OJ Mayo are they only two options this summer if you want a 2 guard that can create his own shot and play D. I think that OJs stock has risen given Memphis's playoff run, but they did just give Z-Bo that fat extension so cap relief and a couple picks could look better for them. But my guess is they wont want to give him up without Taj or Omer.

I think JR is the best option he is a FA so we wouldnt have to give up big man depth for him the question is will the Bulls brass take a chance on him with his off court issues ( I hope so)

I think we are going to end up with Courntey Lee because Thibs likes him because of his D but his lack of ball handling skill is going to screw us

Bogans shoots a higher percentage from long range and plays better defense than Brown. Brown is more athletic but not as strong. JR Smith is more of what the Bulls need than those two....

The next closest guy I can think of is Richardson but he is slow on defense .. and Crawford is a good creator but he is horrible on defense ...

His character issues worry me but that could make him cheaper as a FA

Agree with Hou. Guys who need Rose to create for them are worthless. That's why I want Mayo. If boozer can stay healthy and give us the low post game + Mayo, I think our offense will be very much improved. Plus the progression of Rose and hopefully Noah can get his shot back. Maybe some post moves?

Still down for Mayo all the way. That article by Doug a few days ago about maybe getting Ray Allen in a trade also seems intriguing, but unlikely. JR Smith has grown on me with how apparent it is that we need another guy to create his own shot. I'm pretty sure our locker room can handle him and his character. Plus his defense isn't too bad either. 3pt shooting doesn't have to be elite, just good enough that they can make a consistent open 3. Mayo and Smith can do that at near 40%. If only we could steal away Kevin Martin...I'd take the lack of defense for that kind of offense next to Rose.

how bout putting together a list of all the 2-guards in the league that can create their own shot AND defend. im willing to bet there isnt too many of them. with that being said, im afraid there may not be too many teams that are willing to let go of a player that can do both of those things since they are somewhat rare. id rather not have to give up too much to fill this hole, which may in effect create another hole.

im thinking maybe just finding someone that can score on his own, making him the scoring focus with the 2nd unit. cj is a good defensive pg, ronnie brewer is a great defender that can slide over to the 3. run this "scoring 2-guard" with these 2 guys, and any defensive shortcomings from this 2-guard will be minimal since most second strings dont have more than 1 guy that can create a shot. their 1 guy would be covered by brewer or helped out on by watson.

of course if this 2 guard can defend, itd be ideal, but i think the scoring part is the most important

This guy is so overrated, it's not even funny. The guy is a decent scorer at best with out of this world athleticism. I say we take another shot at Mayo or see about Alfafa in Den

That's just my opinion though. I think we can do better.
