Trying to eat better: Eating less than 2000 cal a day, no beef, or pork. Organic when I can. No fast food, etc.

Next hurdle is going to try to give up pop.

So you haven't thrown in any exercise? That will definitely speed up the process.

No soda will help a lot. Soda is an acid and it's terrible for you. I gave it up cold turkey four years ago. One of the best things I've done.

Just be sure not to replace the calories with a different beverage. I work at a restaurant and I make mochas all the time. Hersheys, creme...I gotta stop.

Nope.

Just reducing portions, no soda, no fats/fastfood/pork, and going organic whenever I can.

Pork is the worst meat you could ever eat, health wise.

My meat intake is organic chicken.

Pork is considered unhealthy for a few reasons. A pig's digestion is relatively quick, allowing toxins to be stored in the fat and meat. But the production methods can create more problems, i.e. antbiotics, crowding, diet, etc.

If you get your pork from good, clean sources (smaller farms, pigs in pasture) and prepare it in a more traditional way such as marinating, pork is and can be a delicious and healthy addition to any diet.

Properly sourced, pork is amazing.
