The Cubs will pick up some of Lee's 3.4M salary.

No Cubs 1B with as many career PA as Lee had a higher career OPS. Most homers ever by a Cubs 1B.

Grace, Frank Chance, Cap Anson only comparables.

Harris and Lorick both look decent. Lopez seems a little shaky. Anyone know where they'll end up, Daytona, Iowa, etc?

He was a solid defensive first baseman and he did have some productive years for the Cubs with the bat. My problem with him was his so called leadership. If he was any kind of leader on this club like I kept hearing, he would've been more vocal about the lifeless effort from his team mates and more critical of guys like Milton Bradley and Carlos Zambrano, just to mention a few. Also not hitting his weight for most of the season sure didn't help matters. Also was disappointed that when it came down to the playoffs, he was nowhere to be found. He was a class act and I do appreciate that about him. So I guess you can say I have mixed feelings about this. Overall though, I would really like to see them clean house!
