Time to make Butler the face of the franchise. Man.....tough blow. His explosiveness was unmatched before the first injury.

I'll be interested to know when this happened, cuz he was visibly limping last night against the Bucks towards the end of the game when Thib's stuck him in at the end of the game for a useless 5 minutes.

I'm really not ready to post what I feel. This just.... this really isn't easy to compartmentalize.

Cliff notes version -- I think we're officially in Brandon Roy territory. This really hurts.

He should just hang it up at this point and cut a deal with Jerry. Reinsdorf can pay a majority of the salary and it won't count against the cap. With that many knee injuries and surgeries he shouldn't even think about being a professional athlete anymore, just do whatever it takes so that he's not crippled in ten years.

100% chance this takes him out for the season?

No. There are two procedures to choose from. Repair or removal. Repair gets him back in a few weeks, removal means he's out for the season, but is better long term I guess. If I were him at this point I'd say fuck it and get the repair.

Edit: Repair is actually better long term. I got the two completely mixed up there.

The severity hasn't been disclosed. Not all tears are the same. Players have come back quickly(2-4 weeks) from meniscus tears and some lose a full year. Needless to say, if by some chance it isn't terribly serious and he comes back, none of it matters because he doesn't know how to play basketball under control at slower speeds.

Which is the same way Rose tore his the ACL in his right knee three years ago. But the Bulls would be so much worse if anyone not named Vinny del Negro or Tim Floyd was coaching.

I hope they go for a facilitator. Bulls still have enough to make a run for the ECF.

History shows...he will be out for the year. If he chooses to repair it...I will be shocked. Surgery is imminent so I take it he has made a decision.
