With that said, if you could take one player for the Bulls (age aside) do you take Kobe, wade or Howard. I assume the most important player you mean is LBJ.

Well, I don't think you can really forget about age, since it's relevant to the superstar discussion. A guy who is still on the way up rates higher than a guy on the way down. That said, lets pretend we could get any of the three at age 24 ...

Wade doesn't even enter my head because of injury concerns. The way the Bulls roster is currently constructed, Kobe probably makes more sense than Howard, but then again if you get Howard you can trade Noah (who'd have to be worth a fair bit right now) to balance it out. I think I'd take Howard just because it's so much easier to build around a C.

Before Billups Melo had Allen Iverson and Marcus Camby. :)

AI made them worse and they gave up Camby for a 2nd round pick.

You can't say your definition of gamechanger is someone who can carry a team on their own back and then complain that we shouldn't talk about team success. :)

Well there are reasons guys miss the playoffs. Like injuries. The year Kobe missed the playoffs, he was hurt and the West was tough as always. If he was in the East, he makes the playoffs.

Winning is nice but what would you rather have? Camelo's 5 straight years of being bounced in the first round. Or Wade's title, three playoff appearances and 1 season with 15 wins in the same 5-year span?

To say Kobe and Wade aren't game-changers because they missed the playoffs isn't fair. LeBron missed the playoffs too. But what were the reasons? His team sucked and he was only 18 and 19. So I'm not holding that against him at all.

I'm not underestimating Howard I just don't think he's on the same level as the other three guys.
Kush, Kobe played 66 games that year, he had plenty of time. To me, the game changers are Lebron and to a lesser extent Wade. Kobe has always been overrated to me. He needs a stacked team to win.

Kobe missed 16 games, that's a lot for your best player. It was also the year of Rudy T resigning mid-season and Frank Hamblen taking over. also the first year without Shaq and all the new players that came over in the trade. So there were reason that Kobe had 1 season where he missed the playoffs. He followed up the next season averaging 35 ppg.

Kobe is a game changer and is still the best player in the game to me. Just look at the Gold Medal game in the Olympics when Spain was coming back, it was Kobe Bryant that took over (with the 4-point play) not LeBron.

Kobe did have the 07-08 Lakers playing above their heads (before the Gasol trade) imo. Kobe isn't overrated, Kobe is overrated, he's still better than LeBron to me.

Well for this year we can forget about age because you think Howard is the 2nd most important player in 09-10. So for this year, right now, you'd take Kobe for the Bulls. But long term Howard because it's easier to build around a center.
