Dont understand how the nutjob meatballs dont understand this is a ben johnson pick.

If the bears hired mike vrabel poles was not drafting a fucking tight end at #10.

You could have hired a new GM, they would still take loveland at #10.

Should've fired Poles and Flus and hired Belichick as HC/GM if that's what you want. But I thought Bears wouldn't hire him because that was too much power for a HC.
What's the fucking difference if the GM is just a yes man?

Why? Do bears fans want to continue to lose?

The reason the patriots suck now is because of bill belichick

You'd also have his nutjob 26 year old girlfriend running things at halas

None of this matters unless BJ can teach Caleb to throw the ball to the open route staring at him in the face.

I read earlier today that both the Chargers and Rams were looking to move up in the draft to acquire Loveland. Harbaugh and McVay seem like pretty good football people who know what they're doing. I think the Loveland pick is going to give the Bears offense a completely different dynamic that we haven't had before.

Ever since they hired Ben Johnson, Poles is walking around like he's the shit.

Really can't stand him.
He didn’t look very happy in the draft room though, the mood was kind of solemn from the video I saw of it.

It looked like an obvious HC pick and Poles didn’t look happy. I still believe in drafting the trenches

For those who wanted Warren, can you answer why it took him until his 5th year in college to break out? Coaching change? Scheme change? QB change?

Ignoring his red-shirt freshman year because he barely played, Warren's stats are as follows:

First 3 years: 49 catches, 606 yards, 11 TDs
Last year: 104 catches, 1233 yards, 8 TDs

He's a month away from turning 23. Loveland just turned 21.
This has got to be brought up more often. The age of a player if you really dive into longevity and how much earlier players are getting in the nfl field as rookies, you have to take age into account in a huge way! Poles first 3rd round pick was worst pick I’ve ever seen or one of them.

This adds so much more value and he was super consistent. Great pick

Then say that as the reason not some BS about HC having GM powers and then turning around to say the GM has to bend over backwards for everything the HC wants.
4 months ago that BS was flying around and now HC is supposed to have GM powers?

It could easily be a discussion between them: I want a TE. Well too bad I ruined the last QB by not giving him protection I'll be a laughing stock if I do it to the #1 pick.

BTW Bill probably wasn't ever on the market and Harbaugh obviously didn't require GM power.

  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
yeah and?
The fact is, they were above .500 in year two.
I know reading is hard, but come on man!!
So disingenuous. I fail to see why you're continued to be humored by the mods. Useless dissident noise.

This draft sucks top end after the first 5 or so picks, there was no obvious blue chip player at 10 . Johnson wanted this guy with what was left on the board, they took him. They obviously were not impressed enough with any of the remaining trench guys to take them that high. I have no problem with it, you have to give Johnson what he wants. If it proves to be a shit pick down the road then blame Johnson.

Every Head Coach has heavy say in draft picks and FA signings.

Flus is a moron and even he did.

I'm sorry, but this is a bit ridiculous. Poles is the reason why this team actually landed a real NFL QB with a sky high ceiling, for the first time in forever. Poles is a huge reason why Ben Johnson chose this team to come to. This is a loaded roster on both sides of the ball. Yes, he's not the best GM in the league, but he's done a nice job.

Most GMs get 3 years to turn a pile of shit into a playoff caliber team. It took him 4 years. And it appears that what he's built can actually be sustainable, with such a young roster and plenty of flexibility for more talent. They still have the rest of the draft to come away with an OT, RB, and a pass rusher with upside and after that, there really aren't gaping holes on this roster.

Yeah even Colston thought he was talking to the coach.

He probably thought, why would they put me on the phone with a dime store yes man GM amirite?

Harsh. He showed a lot of promise in the 4th quarter. Needs to buy in to the system and throw on time. Should be easier to do with a proven OC now at HC as opposed to a HC sabotaging his own team at pivotal moments.

I 100% agree and have said as much many times. But it is also a GM's job to say they need to protect the #1 QB they just got last year with no protection.

These coaches have not had an off season with this line to say with any confidence the problems are fixed. It is Poles' job to speak that reality to them and over rule their draft wishes if need be.
