The Bears needed hires that could help Fields develop; the idea was to get coaches with proven experience. So they go out and hire a mediocre DC who runs cover two. I'm assuming we have to switch from 3-4 to 4-3...did we really need that big of a change with the personnel we have right now? (Correct me if I'm wrong about this. We can discuss further if necessary.)
We hired Luke Getsy. He's never been an OC before. He was a QB coach in GB. He developed Jordan Love, who many of CCS's own dubbed a "shit-stain" QB after ONE game. I mean it's kinda poetic justice and funny as fuck on one hand (relative to the clown posse on this board)...but I still have to deal with this guy being our OC.
We hired Andrew Janocko to be Fields QB coach. He's been with Minnesota for years but was only a QB coach this last year for Cousins, who's already been "developed." He has NO experience developing a young guy.
Look at this dude's resume. He's MOSTLY been an offensive line coach...lmao...he's going to coach up Fields?
...with Minnesota as an offensive quality control coach (2015-16) before serving as assistant offensive line coach (2017), co-offensive line coach (2018), assistant offensive line coach (2019), receivers coach (2020) and quarterbacks coach (2021).
There's absolutely NOTHING here that screams "THIS WILL HELP OUR STRUGGLING QB."
