If you are tech savvy look into FTA receivers. You can get all the games for free if you can set up a dish and do some fairly simple programing of the receiver. Cable and Dish are both to fucking expensive. lol

ESPN's prices are way too high, Dish is in the position of power here. I only really watch ESPN for games and I can find those online if Dish drops them. **** paying more on my satellite bill.

I don't think Dish is in the position of power there. People would actually leave Dish because of this and I doubt they would lower their current customers bills if they didn't pay ESPN. I would have to believe ESPN would keep on trucking without Dish.

The carriers always cave. Any time channels get dropped (or threatened to be dropped) the customers do not get pissed at the content producers, they call up the carriers cussing them out for not having the channel any more.

ESPN used to be amazing, once they realized it they started a long slow spiral into suckitude. We ditched ESPN over a decade ago to save some cash on our cable bill and I haven't missed it. If it ever gets to the point where channels are ala carte and viewers can add/drop specific channels I think ESPN will quickly find out their value is not nearly as high as they think it is.

I think the Disney channel would be a bigger loss than ESPN. Angry sports fans are scary, but angry parents??? shudder. Either way you are probably right in saying the Disney is at a better position than Dish.

I just would like someone to knock Disney down a few pegs, they are charging ridiculous prices for non premium channels. In the end it always leads to the consumer having to pay more.

Every month when I look at my bill I think I am getting bent over for the few channels that I actually do watch.
Even if a-la-carte ever happened, they would make the prices of each channel so high that it would still be cheaper to buy the packages. Probably our only hope is someone like Google to do it (who is more interested in mining your data than making money off the services). Or if the government stepped in and disallowed the providers from raping us.

People still have Dish?

I gotta have my Sunday ticket so Direct is the only option for me.

I am crossing my fingers that Google can finagle getting the online streaming of games next year
