Dish Network Problems 9-13-11

I'm posting this here because I think it will get more looks.



So, I get home and my dish network service is out - total signal loss. I reset the box, still no signal. I run a diagnostic and it says the HDTV satellite at 129 degrees is not showing up, but 110 and 119 are green.



I go online and search 'dish network 129' and find a blog with users all over the eastern half of the country experiencing issues. Dish Networks own website is not loading and the tech support line is busy, not just putting me in a loop, but straight up old school busy...beep beep beep beep.



Anyone know if the HDTV satellite at 129 blew the **** up?

I mean I've never had many problems with Dish other than in severe storms.

Don't seem to be having any problems with my channels. But they use a different sat.

In case anyone cares, Dish Network has admitted the issue and is hoping to have it fixed tomorrow morning. I know shit tons about satellites and a bit about cable, and a shit ton about networking massive complex enterprises so I'll go out on a limb and assume they are having comms issues with the satellite. I assume thy would have declared the satellite dead in the air by now otherwise.

First off, I've had a laundry list of problems with DirecTV so the stupid fanboi war over Dish and DirecTV is fucking Special person. So I've had both, both do some things better than the other.



Second, yeah i seen on google news that it either the sat lost power or they lost communications with it.
