Doesn't satellite still have pretty bad latency?
I guess that's not a big deal unless your gaming or video conferencing or something a long those lines.
They're surprisingly good considering the distance. But yeah, no more sub 100ms pings, that's for sure. 400-500 range. What's nice about some of the satellite ISPs is that you can actually increase your ping over a longer range, than through the bee-line on land. So Chicago to Europe might actually be slightly better because it's a few straight shots, opposed to hub, subnetworks to hub to user, etc.
