The lady that takes her son also has a 6 year old daughter that she takes every week. The mom said she doesn't allow her daughter to even leave the house if she has so much as a chip in her nail polish. And the boy was positively giddy when he talked about going to the spa because it made him look and feel good. I just think it sends a wrong message. It's like saying looking good is all that matters. You can be dumb as a box of rocks or a total waste of life on the inside as long as the packaging is good. I prefer people with a little more substance.

sounds more like a family just wanting to get on TV bri than anything else.

The wife and I went for a couples massage for our anniversary a couple years back. I enjoyed it enough... I would probably have a standing appointment for that if it were not so damn expensive.

I also enjoyed the massage girl that came around at the strip joint my friends and I would frequent during my single/University days. She was a pretty cool girl, and 5 bucks a song isn't bad, especially after she got to know us and would give us 1 extra song for free. We'd have many a discussions with her during slow nights. We'd go there for the hockey games because they'd have the game on the wall via a projector (PPV included) and they'd have awesome intermission entertainment. Plus at $3 a beer, it was cheaper than hitting the regular bar.

I've had massages and manicures and pedicures, but that's about it. All of it is great, but I don't do it regularly in anyway. Except the Brazilian wax. Spas are great, but too expensive, I just look for deals on the stuff individually for me and the wife. Would never waste the money on a child there.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
In all seriousness, No I wouldn't take my (future) kids to one. Maybe a daughter as a present to go with her mom but that's it.

As for me, even though I love a good back rub, I wouldn't spend $700 bucks/month for it. My fiancee is usually more than willing as long as I do her as well, and ifI need a really deep tissue massage, I just buy concert tickets to a show that has a "mass of humanity" style of mosh pit (See Also: GWAR), and that usually gets the job done for a lot less cash.

I got regular massages last Summer while I was training for Pikes Peak. Extremely helpful.

yeah Ive never been, Ive never even gotten a massage or anything. I can think of much better ways to spend the money, so i don't think you will ever see me at the spa. ****, I cut my own hair even(cut is a relative term, more like grab the buzzer and have at it basic training style), so i dont even go to the damn super cuts for a wash and a haircut.

Hun, are you the one that uses all the lotion? I was going to suggest some good lotion to you and it is really cheap. I go through a lot in the winter cause my skin gets so dry. I usually get baby lotion cause I have sensitive skin, but have found this brand works well. It is called Perfect Purity Advanced Lubricating Skin Lotion and you should be able to get it at Dollar Tree.

I can't believe none of you guys are going to admit to going to the Oriental Spa. I'll be the first. My first experience with them was in Atlanta several years ago. No manicures or pedicures, but you get a sauna, then have a beautiful girl bathe you, then give you an awesome massage. If you want to spring for the happy ending then that's always available as well, but not required.
