He's played in 5.5 games and has 6 fumbles. He's been sacked 22 times.

The ball is going on the ground a little more than 25% of the time.

At this point, he knows his line cannot be trusted - maybe protect that ball a little better going forward?

the Bears entire shitty O is concerning to me.
I knew this response was coming, and it's fair, but I'm starting to get this Rex Grossman feeling about his fumbles...like when he does get hit, there's a good chance the ball is coming out.

And you factor in the bad snaps...I'm seeing the ball on the ground an awful lot.

Most times, when a QB gets hit bringing his arm up to throw, he fumbles.

It's more a matter of the defensive players timing

Fields got hit a couple times at the right time for a fumble

The bad snaps aren't on him. And slow developing route designs are not helping, and are of concern, too, especially with this poor - and poorly coordinated - OL.

I don't know if he had fumble issues at OSU, but there are certain things he is doing that he could get away with at OSU that won't fly in the NFL in general and could never be done with this Oline.

Fields was the most sacked QB in college. He is incapable of multitasking. If he is going through his reads hes gotta be standing still and holding the ball to process it all. If he is rolling out he has to come to full stop to make a decent read.
Holy shit - you're right.

He got sacked twice for every game played one year and three times another year. WTF? I'm going to go out on a limb and say OSU has a good o-line.

*It appears Y! doesn't keep track of fumbles for some reason. I wonder if someone has the JF fumble data?

Fields has the pocket awareness of a young Stevie Wonder.

So much this.

It's not even just the fumbles, he's eating too many sacks waiting for a play that might never be there because this is professional football and not the shitty Big Ten.

He can't be superman anymore. I love the big plays too, but most of the time all you need is to do is keep moving the sticks.

I think he can learn better, but I lack faith in his teachers.
