It didint show up on pick and roll. But perhaps it does in rebounding, especially against physical teams like the Wizards. Do not get me wrong. Gasol has been a Godsend, but we may have lost some toughness.

Boozer did box out I guess. Gasol doesn't as much since he tries to contest shots instead. The Bulls have never really been a "tough" team in the sense you speak of though, even with Boozer.

Are the Lakers improved with Boozer's physicality?

You tell me why we have taken a step back defensively.
Guards are not playing pick and roll well, Rose either can't or is afraid to move laterally on defense, and overlooked is Pau playing the 5 defensively instead of Noah.

Team is putting up more shots, which means the opposing team is putting up more shots. It's the high pick n roll with the guards that is killing us. Rose & Brooks are not strong defenders & it's been a glaring problem all season long. Oh and let's not forget that the reigning DPOY has been playing on a bum knee and ankles all season. That certainly doesn't help when making defensive rotations.

The only thing this team maaaaybe misses is Boozer's consistent 17-20 foot jumper, but Gasol has been good from that range so I can't even say the team misses that.

Let's face it, the team misses Boozer yelling "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYY!!!!!!!!! GRAB DAT JO!" every play.

The only thing Boozer was good at was playing consistently bad defense.

It is ironic that despite Gasol's rebounds and block shots the Bulls have taken a noticable step back on D. It didn't make sense until I remenbered this:

Remember Boozer rarely played against Washington who pushed us around all series. Say what you want, but the Bulls will rarely punked when Boozer was around. Just askin'.

Yeah, Boozer lost playing time to Taj because Thibs thinks Boozer has a stronger presence on defense.
