Do 'we' REALLY need to get Keenan Allen more involved?

I think he’s done here. He must really suck for them to just leave him off the roster every week.
He's been active every week....maybe missed week 1.....he just doesn't get snaps....and prob shouldn't

Honestly the OP is just asking on behalf of Keenan Allen himself.

The man is old.

Why are we asking him to do all this running and catching?

Should be 2-3 targets a game for 8-15 yards on the boundary where he can step out before contact.

This Waldron fella is rediculous (thx @BobEvans)

Glad we agree on Haugh....stopped listening to him a few years ago and that was after I only heard him a minimum amount of times. Imo...he likes to stir the pot..
I used to think that he just wanted to naysay, but now I just think he has no concept of how sports work.

Leave it to the Bears fans to rip to shreds one of the best receivers ever to wear a Bears uniform. Unbelievable.

Word.

Allen is still an amazingly talented receiver, but after drafting a WR with a top ten pick, he is essentially a very expensive role player as far as I am concerned. Someone that can be where he needs to be to move the chains on manageable third downs. Then the Bears can move on in 2025 because Cole Kmet is the better fiscal option in the role until Poles hits on another mid round pick not named Velus.

They just paid Moore and drafted Rome in the first. Allen won’t be here next year.

Who cares who gets the stats as long as the offense is in rhythm and they win. I’ll bet the players don’t, and that includes Allen. He has more than proven himself over his career to get paid after the seat by another team.

There were a couple weeks where he wasn't dressed. They put Carter in instead for some weird reason.

Pretty sure he's been active every week since vjj got benched....Hasn't had many snaps and think 0 targets

Did have a "discussion" with someone preseason who thought he was getting 35ish catches and 500ish yards.......said no chance unless multiple injuries

Good lord we finally get depth at a key position for new QB1, and we can’t wait to over analyze KA. We have real deal depth. Bears will be so lucky come injury time later, which we KNOW will come.

KA was never going to be here next year. Besides the $$$, ask yourself this: Do we want Caleb throwing 40 times a game or 25-30? IDGAF about Scott. Good to have them for this year, but will have to spend less total but with new young talent.

We need 3 top tier WRs to ensure we develop a QB.

Allen was Moore insurance.
Odunze was future insurance.

It's best for both parties if we could recoup the draft pick and he could get catches in a contract year, hence the trade exploration.

He got a bit heavy and lost a half step. Insurance is damn expensive when you are a repeat offender like the Bears WR core.

Won't happen again, but he may or may not play an important role yet.

Caleb Williams doesn't need him, Scott and a mid round rookie will be sufficient moving forward as back-ups.

Cheap vets and UDFA will look to Chicago soon to fill that void knowing 5000 yards are available to divide.

It isn't like he is some over the hill waste of a roster spot. What I want to know is, when healthy, why he is on the bench with Everett out there running routes. The biggest question mark as far as offensive output is concerned, to me, is why Everett has plays designed to go to him. Can we, instead of settling on a low number for Allen's involvement, take Everett out of passing situations and just put our man KA in there? It isn't like this offense has asked Everett to be a significant blocker.

Hey....I resemble that remark!....lol.....Yea, I thought he would be the No. 4 receiver, however, I believe I also made the point that if the No. 4 receiver got 30-35 catches that the passing game was going to be great. I incorrectly picked Scott as the No. 4. But whether Allen, Cement or Rome ends up with the 4th most catches this season, it will be over 30 catches. Correct analysis, just the wrong player. I'll take that.
I know your post wasn't spiteful, just sayin' I thought Scott was going to be the No. 4 and have a breakthrough season.

He kind of is the #4 wr (with carter)....but as i said months ago....barring major wr injuries; he'd be about the 6th-9th option in the passing game with everett/carter/vjj (and he is) and wouldn't sniff 30-35 catches.
