Personally, I don't. I don't even understand why people do say it... so someone fill me in if they know why.

I bring this up now because this chick called me rude for never saying bless you to her when she sneezed. I basically responded with, "I'm rude for not acknowledging your sneeze?" And she said, "Yes, it's the polite thing to do." Huh?

I always do, and here's why I do it

"the heart stops beating during a sneeze, and that the phrase "bless you" encourages the heart to continue beating."

On a related note, whenever a QB throws an interception, I always say "God Blessed *insert QB name here*

That's actually a myth. The heart doesn't stop when you sneeze.

I say "God bless you" when I remember, but similar to Sheldon's 3rd set of knocks on a door in the Big Bang Theory, I can't hardly help myself but to say at least "Bless You" after a sneeze. Just feels incomplete w/out it.

Yes, because when you sneeze your soul tries to escape from your nose but when you say "bless you" or "god bless you" your soul stays.

Mind=blown

Our if you're alone and sneeze like 30 times 'cause of allergies. That's a lot of souls you lose right there.

It depends on who I'm around. I do say it sometimes.

Even though I'm not religious at all, what I have noticed is when you have a standstill between another person, and both are a bit stubborn to talk with each other, catching them sneeze and saying bless you, sometimes breaks that tension a bit. You remind the person that even though you're mad at each other for whatever reason, that you still care.
