Yes.

Despite idiots on the internet, 98% of the people I encounter on a daily/weekly basis are good people. The internet amplifies everything and Twitter is the scum of the earth.
Rush, no matter what that fat ass Scoot says you are a good man

Just good some really nice grape ultra. Weekend without the kids coming up. Lots of cleaning and organizing. Will need asap.

That’s a nice take and a good point. Most people have twitter, though…and the internet. And the people you encounter on a daily basis are but the tiniest fraction of humanity as a whole. I might have a glimmer of hope left for humanity…but in all likelihood things will gradually get worse and worse and people will become dumber and dumber and more unbearable.

My department traveled in ‘mandatory’ fashion to orlando last week to celebrate the end of covid. I refused to go due to having an 82-year-old mom, the risk of infecting her, and already having lost my immunocompromised father to it (in Florida). I was told not going would risk promotion chances. 2 and counting have since come back with covid. So **** human resources who value head count over humanity.

For the inevitable jokes, i don’t live with my Mom, but I go out of my way not to be a vector of disease for her when I visit

Mandatory travel is BS and threatening promotion chances because of it is even bigger BS. I’m surprised HR would play that card so openly.
