Real men use their garages for more than parking. Feminized men are whipped, and the garage is used for storage.

#Truth

I have a big wing chair in my garage that I sit in it and smoke cigars and drink scotch. Also a full sized coin op dartboard, tools, workbench etc. Maybe 10% of it is being used for storage, the 90% is used for me escaping to some peace and quiet. I could probably park one of the cars in there easily, but don't care. Might change when I break down and buy something nice.

You come over to my house and see what you can accomplish in the 20 square foot rectangle next to my vehicle.....

Build something, that's what those two meathooks are for.

Men going to the garage is our way of saying "I love you honey, but If I have to hear you nag for another minute....."

I do, and BTW, using this opportunity to again, thank you for introducing me to junkman. :)

The only time I go to a machine, is in a pinch to clean the salt off the car.

Lol glad I could help. Great videos.

That seems kinda silly. I usually only want to wash my car during the winter anyway. I can't really see the point in washing my car so often in the non winter months.
I don't ever wash it during the winter..by the time its clean its dirty again...I should go now though.

I should clarify. I want to wash it, but I don't until the snow is generally gone. So when the weather is what it is around now is when I would finally get it washed...in fact, had it washed earlier this week.

Same here. Earlier this week I even scratched a rental car while mine is in the body shop. Hopefully it buffs out.

I usually wash our nicer vehicle a couple times a year by hand and wax, etc. The rest of the time I'll give it a spray at the car wash when its getting dirty. My suburban has 22s that I try to keep fairly clean so they last.

We have a 2 car garage. Park the suburban in one half and the other half has garbage/recycling bins, riding mower, snow blower, lawn stuff, etc.

So what wax does everyone use?.

I tried marine and even aviation at one time or another.

But I keep going back to polyurethane, otherwise known as Nu-Finish...cheaper and works better than rain-x on windows.

A co-worker just informed me he has a subscription to a car wash..$17 / month for unlimited car washes... He can't go more than a day without washing his car. I've told him he's nuts. (He's car is a 2001 Intrepid.. good condition, but not something I'd fret about always keeping so clean).

I wish I had a friend who owned a car wash so I could get free washes.

A subscription for a car wash? Never heard of that hahaha.

But yeah, it's sweet. They wax the car and everything. I feel bad going often though a

No, I don't wash my own car. Yes, I do park my car in the garage. It's a 2 car garage, but we have 4 cars (big family), so the other 2 are parked in the driveway. I had a ton of shit in the garage, but built a shed by the side of the house and cleared a ton of space. I also installed some cabinets and put in these Rubbermaid rails on the walls: http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?CatName=GarageOrganization&SubcatId=FastTrackGarageOrganizationSystem&Prod_ID=RP091928
I wish I took some before/after pics because the transformation was pretty huge.

I use Nu Finish and haven't found anything that is as easy and works as well...
I have two garages... one two car and a single. The two car only has one car in it because of heavy bags, some workout stuff and floor freezers...
The single is full of tools, drums, golf equipment, bikes, hunting equipment, etc... also the man cave where I work on stuff, keep beer and watch Da Bears...
I wash my own and they get waxed twice a year, spring and fall...
The wife's SUV is in the garage... my truck is in the driveway... but the way the houses are shaped it's shaded all day... which is important is Arizona.

When I had my 67 Chevelle SS I used ONLY carnauba wax. Good stuff.

Turtle Wax Ice >.<

Seriously. No marathon rubbing tennis elbow, swirls, or powdery shit left behind........ and you can apply it in full sunlight.

It lasts about 6-8 months... even longer if you use Turtle Wax Ice Car Wash Soap and the detailing spray for follow up washes.

I have been using a detailer to keep the car clean in between washes. Pick up a bunch of microfiber towels (waffle weave). Saved me a lot of full washes

I don't own a garage but park in our car port since my wife doesn't trust herself to park their without plowing into the adjacent car (they will be parking slots when they grow up.

I usually only hand wash/wax (Meguiars) once a year--more if for some reason I want to show my car off. I'll take it through a machine otherwise during the 3 month non-rainy period. I also don't fret too much since Murphy's law (or one of the many colliaries) states that the minute I wash it It will rain soon. ]

During the 9 month rainy season here, I'll usually forego it...unless there's a dry spell, then I'll wash it just to bring the rain (I'm an evil bastage that way).

I use Chemical Guys Butter Wet wax after 2 coats of sealer.

If you use detail spray look into "infinite use detail juice". You spend like $50 on concentrate and get a lifetimes worth of the stuff. I use the crap out of it.

I'm single these days, so I tend to "wash my own vehicle" quite a bit.
