I hope he can keep it up all season. Beef Castle too. That dude his a hitting machine right now.

My worries right now is Rizzo. That dude isn't doing much but a 2 run HR here and there and nothing in between.

Part of the problem is Command Central trying to make him the poster boy.

Smart baseball fans know better.

It's not smart to put the pressure on him like this so early on with so little help in the lineup. He still hasn't made the adjustment to the opposing pitching following last season's second half of the second half.

So lets hope he can turn it around. Although with the crappy hitting around him. He's not going to see many good pitches to hit IMO.

You would think that if they would have even just brought in the switch hitting Swisher, to bat behind him, it would have helped him immensely.

Yeah, well Sori just got his first HR last night, so let's hope he will start to catch fire and that should help Rizzo I believe. Or if they have to, maybe put Welli or Nate behind Rizzo.

No need to worry Mr. Cub

A couple of top baseball experts here have already proclaimed Rizzo one of the top young players in the game.

I guess they only watched about his first 20 games or so last year and not the entire second half of last year and the first 15 games this year where he has been a below average player for his position.

As of now he is awesome. Dude probably has an ERA of 1. But, he is a Cub and this can all come crumbling down and that wouldn't surprise me much. Look at Carlos Silva.

Another gem pitched last night that rendered him a no-decision. He left the game with 3 hits given up in 8-1/3 innings pitched in Cinci. Nice game Villy. Keep it up so Theo can trade you for a PTBNL. :shot:

Carlos Silva sucked in Seattle before he came here. And he never was good here. BUT he was instrumental in the Cubs getting rid of Bradley, so at least he was good for one thing.

The problem is that Chicago has nobody to market right now and summer is coming. If Chicago continues to tank games, attendance will probably go down and so will their profits. Mind you, it won't be that much but more than anything, it will be fans letting them know that they aren't buying their bullshit anymore.

So, in order to market the team's positives now, they will hang their hat on someone that has never shown that he can hack it for a full season, especially at the pace he is now. But they are willing to do it in the hopes that he will continue (which isn't likely) or that someone else will get hot and they can switch while maintaining their profit margins.

Either way, if he does maintain you can bet they will trade him for something useless mid season.

I can't wait to see what he will be traded for....

Either a washed up 32+ year old never was, or some young AA prospect that will never have a chance of making into the majors for the sake of "beefing up" the farm system.

Well AF.

They did have the Cub's Way book of basics last year and this year's "Commited" slogan for the fans to fall back on.

I love that they are commited to the fans this year. It's been great.
