Bettman already did and basically said it was not big deal.

Personally I think it is stupid, but this is not the only team or sport that has put in some of these type of rules. For most it is a safety thing given how "passionate" the fans are about their rivalries. This is not a safety thing, but having those that are paying some of the higher prices to not need to "deal" with fans from the other team. Me, personally, I love talking to other fans and I love when they come into the Stadium Club. I have yet to meet one that is a complete ass. Probably because the cost of those seats are not cheap to begin with.

I've never had an issue mingling with opposing fans - I've even bought them a beer. I don't see this as a matter of constitutional law, but I do see it as harmful for the sport. If they want to block a section, that's fine. Those tickets are typically season holders though and they have a right to resell to whomever they want. I find the whole thing a bit strange, but I probably haven't read enough about it.

Who is the hottie on the right?.

This Army guy tried selling the tics on secondary markets according to the article. That will get you in trouble no matter what the sport, even the Cubs used to(or still do)revoke season tics for this.

I didn't want to go off topic but how fucking awkward is that? If I were his Wife I'd just look at her and she'd know to get the **** out of the damn picture.
Why do they think that wives want some random slut in the picture?
its weird as hell to me.
This probably makes me sound crazy but I don't care!

Chicago Blackhawks fans who are lucky enough to snag tickets for the Stanley Cup Finals at the Amalie Arena in Tampa will be barred from wearing team apparel if their seats are in exclusive club seating areas.

The policy, along with another restricting ticket purchases to credit cards associated with Florida zip codes, is raising hackles among Blackhawks fans. The ban on team apparel is also raising First Amendment issues, according to Florida International University law professor Howard Wasserman, who spoke with the Chicago Tribune.

Amalie Stadium is publicly owned and the First Amendment would apply to its actions, Wasserman said. He sees a potential problem if the ban on Blackhawks gear applied throughout the stadium.

He notes that the ban only applies to certain sections, however. “While troubling (and stupid),” he told the Tribune in an email, “if that involves only a relatively small portion of the arena and only a relatively small part of the seats, it may be permissible. Certainly more so than a blanket ban on anyone wearing Blackhawks gear.”

If it does violate 1st amendment right, because it's a publicly owned stadium and all, then even the banning of Hawks gear in even the smallest parts of the stadium is still a violation..Sorta like the Constitution free zones surrounding our borders where border control agents and state police frequently violate citizens rights..aka mission creep..But besides that, this tactic by opposing clubs is grade A pussiness..how fast they forget when these clubs sucked and couldn't fill their stadiums and would kiss any out of towners asses to show up.

I just don't think it's something the NHL should allow to become constitutional. They should do something. The Hawks don't take any actions like this - they're doing it to protect their fans, but we live in America, not Russia. It's not really conducive to good fan behavior down the road either.

I think Tampa has a nice bunch of guys.

Hawks fans are approaching this thing all wrong. Nobody cares that a bunch of white men are being discriminated against. A group of black fans, women fans, tranny fans, or Muslim fans with Hawks gear on?

They wouldn't dare tell them "we don't want your kind here". That's your ticket to get in - a burqa, or full on drag.
