If he signs there, his detractors (CW apologists) will go crickets about him next year.

It's interesting you mentioned Bagent because Mooneys production increased a lot under the 4 games Bagent started.

Mooney was averaging 27.6ypg this year, while under the 4 Bagent starts that jumped up to 42.25ypg. which would average out to 717yards for the year of he maintained that average.

I don't think Mooney is anything more then just a guy, but it does really shine a light on how Fields couldn't get more out of him then the D2 rookie did..

This same thing is true of Mooney's best year. If it wasn't for Dalton, Mooney never would've had a 1000 yard season. He had nearly double the catches per game and almost 30 yards a game more compared to when Fields played (higher catch % and TDs per game too). I will say though, it was Fields' rookie year, but it doesn't seem much has changed for Mooney anyway in the years since.
