I don't know the "discussion" about Lindros making the Hall, but it shouldn't be about if he has a Cup win or not. Again, it's just wrong to judge a player on that. There's sooooo many other things that play into whether or not a player even gets a chance at winning a Cup that are completely out of his control. The real discussion should be on his injuries, and how much they affected his play.

As for Toews, if he could just get off to a decent start at the beginning of each season, he would easily be a point per game player, so that would take care of the points issue, as long as he stays relatively clear of major injury the rest of his career. If he does, he'll make it. The youngest member and one of only 20 something players to ever be in the Triple Gold Club. Was the only college player on that gold medal winning Team Canada's 07' World Championship roster, which should say a lot. Stood out on and won best forward of the Olympics while playing on one of the best teams ever assembled in terms of talent. He has some incredible achievements already this early on.

Guess what variable that's what the voters factor in CUPS you can fight until you are blue in the face but the fact is the voters consider cups heavily in the process and you have to have impressive stats to overcome a lack of a cup. That is the sole discussion on whether not Roenick goes, same as Lindros, never won a cup and yeah it matters and should be factored in.

Rod Gilbert NYR- 1065 GP 1021 points, 0 cups.

Cam Neely- Under a point per game, no cups.

Michael Goulet- No Cups, over a point per game(1152 points) HOF

Anything is possible.

Doesn't make it any less stupid if that's true. I know they factor it in, to what degree I don't know, but I would hope it would be pretty far down on the priority list. I don't get this disconnect wherein everyone here and NHL fans all around the country can see and understand how tough it is to just ADVANCE to the Cup Final let alone winning a SINGLE Stanley Cup, how everything has to fall a certain way, how it has to be a total team effort, how anything out of the control of a single player alone can screw up that opportunity and they may never get it again. How we can all understand that and like to comment on how "the Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy in sports to win" and so when the individual honor of the Hall of Fame comes around and we come around to deciding candidates, we punish some of them because...........they didn't win the hardest trophy in team sports to win, where it takes all I mentioned above to just get an opportunity to play for. Give me a break.

When JT talks during a movie the movie pauses to let him finish what he was saying.

JT played on the Price is Right and told them the price was wrong, so they changed it.

JT doesn't have good aim, the pucks just know better than to miss.

I agree with you on that... However, Lindros and Roenick are likely shoo-ins.

Lindros made contributions to the sport that likely will be recognized in a different way. It was because of him that the concussion issues in hockey were brought to the forefront. Its still a big hot-button issue now, and seriously, he could have been something special.

Roenick will likely get in due to his contributions to the sport of hockey as a US player. He was one of the players that I can say that I loved from when he was a Hawk. While he won't bring the impact of the sport in as a few others have, there aren't many American players that can say they contributed to the growth of modern-day US hockey. I think Roenick was one of the ones that did.

Neither one won a Cup. Yet, they both brought something to the modern-day game that needs to be recognized.

The one that is borderline for me to get in, though is Pavel Bure. I don't know if he'll get in right away, but I know he'll get in eventually.

JT needs to get some personal hardware over his career and be at least close to a PPG player. A Selke or more and Hart ought to do.

The Conn Smythe wasn't enough?

He's already in IMO.

While he may have had great contributions, Lindros is one player I'd like to see never make it. Something about the way he handled a lot of things in his career that just doesn't sit well with me and I don't think it should be rewarded with the highest honor. But at the same time, who would want to play in Quebec.

Hasn't Lindros been eligible for years but not voted in?

Joe Sakic had no issues with it. Sakic > Lindros by a country mile.

In Lidros's defense I think it had a lot less to do with the Nords as a hockey team but more so the temperature of the province of Quebec at that time. We are talking about a province in full on separation talks which if not for the very close vote it would have happened. Would have been a complete fucking nightmare playing for the Nords or the Habs if that one had happened...esp the Nords as Quebec city was far more radical on the separatist movement.

The lame excuse of high taxes and a shitty Canadian dollar must have come into play on that one by Lidros also. Never liked that excuse but I guess it is a reality..that dollar fucking sucked.

I still think Lindros is an asshole though but I gotta hand it to him. He was a hell of a hockey player at his time and if not for the concussion issues I believe he would have had a cup or 2 and would have been much higher in the stat totals. For what the guy did accomplish while playing through the concussions..well I think you do have to give him some credit. I wouldn't be shocked if he were inducted into the Hall.

Not sure... Its what, 5 yrs after retirement when you're first on the ballot? When you have to deal with competition from good players like Andreychuk, Bourque, Yzerman, etc, there's no way in hell you're going to the HHOF on your first go-round after retirement, especially with Lindros' reputation...

With the lack of good Cup-winners now they need to utilize some other criteria to make it, I'm sure.
