He was horrific against the Eagles and almost got Fields killed on multiple snaps, even tho he only played less than 50% of the game.

Now I see why the bears were the only team to put a claim in for him.

I wonder if Flus gives him another chance at tackle, or if he keeps him as a permanent backup and just keeps Reiff at RT to avoid serious injury to fields.

Either way, those who thought he might be part of next years starting 5 can probably give up on that crazy idea now. He won’t be back next season. Not at tackle anyway

That's what I was thinking. Many posters thought he deserved an audition.

I guess we can forget that after one game?

I’m sure he’ll get snaps just out of necessity but he shouldn’t. If they want to keep kicking the tires on him should be in a back up guard role

Ideally Bears want to give him as many snaps as possible to see what they have, but also dont want to get Fields killed in the evaluation process. Concerning that after dropping 25 pounds from Mono he still doesnt have the footspeed to keep up with speed rush on the edge - maybe Tevens injury gives him a chance to rotate snaps at RG.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Redick makes a lot of tackles look foolish, but holy shit that was the worst block attempt I've seen since Mustipher blocking thin air.

Might as well let any of the young guys start and just give them all a chance at this point, to block... Fields, he's on the sidelines.

I think it’s strange the bears really didn’t even give Teven a real chance at tackle, but they did with Leatherwood who clearly isn’t an NFL tackle.

Never thought he'd make it at T but should get a shot at G. My biggest concern there is whether he can be crisp off the snap.

They did in practice. They liked him better at guard. It worked. He’s been great there.

Don’t get this obsession people have with making him a tackle.

I'm pretty sure Leatherwood gave up 2 sacks, 2 additional QB hits and 5 pressures in a 6 dropback span in the 2nd quarter. I know Haasan Reddick has been really good this year and is tough matchup for anyone, but frankly I don't need to see any more of Alex Leatherwood. And I was all about giving him a chance the last 4 weeks.
