My uncle's African Grey named Echo is fucking hilarious. I don't know if yours talked much but his is a regular riot. I always tell him he should record video of Echo and send it in to America's Funniest Home Videos or something of the sort. Hell, at least youtube it.

Echo is a great name for an African grey especially due to their uncanny ability to mimic voices (my birds name was Gillian).... Yes my bird talked all the time. But not only did it talk it literally would imitate people's voices (as I am sure you know with echo) and sound like an exact duplicate. It is really unbelievable!

I definitely know what you mean!! Sometimes my bird would say things that weren't intended for the everyone in the room to hear and there was no ambiguity where the bird heard what it repeated because it sounded exactly like whomever said it initially..My bird would actually ask people to get things from kitchen or to make a certain food and you would walk out of the kitchen with pretzels and a cup of ice tea for someone and only the bird is there staring at you...hysterical!

HAHAHA exactly! One time it was late at night like around 11PM and my cousin and I had the TV up fairly loud. Echo was sleeping or trying to sleep in the room next door. Suddenly, and loudly, in my uncle's voice we heard him say "Be quiet and shut up!" We both looked at each other and started laughing our asses off because he had never used that on us before. You know how its typical of people to yell in the household to get someone's attention that is on a different floor? Well Echo had a knack for imitating everyone's voice screaming for someone else. The classic scenario he would use is a phone call. First he would mimic the ringer for the phone exactly as it is. Then he would "pick up the phone" in my Aunt's voice "Hello, Carmen speaking" then after a short pause you would hear the loud yell "Maaaaaaaaaaarco!, telephone." He was taught to do and say many things but there are so many other things he simply does all by himself. The funniest I have heard is when he literally strikes up a conversation with himself using two or three people's voices. Its so hilarious.

Hahahahahahah. This brings back so many fond memories, my bird did the exact same thing. Would make the ringer sound, then say hello and then say Anthony pick up the phone.. It would also always imitate my brother and me arguing... when we would here it while we were just sitting there hanging out it is like hearing it from a third party perspective. We would crack up because we were arguing about something so stupid but it felt so important while we were arguing about it. The bird definitely gave us some perspective on how ridiculous we sounded some time...and a lot of laughs.
