Because I think Burton is going to want No 1 TE money rather than No 2 TE money. He is not going to look at the Bears and be like, "You guys have a stud in Shaheen so I'mma just take less to back him up."

And it would be stupid to give a TE say 5-6 million a year to be the No 2 TE so if you go after Burton it has to be with the expectation IMO that he is the No 1 TE.

And there is no way he is starting over Shaheen. Shaheen has some big time talent that was not used by Fox and Loggains.

Exactly. If they went that route i would expect a two tight end heavy offense, especially given the lack of receiver options.
