What would you guys be willing to trade for Jason Robertson? He’s in the last year of his deal and Dallas has basically zero cap space. He’ll be 26 in July. Could they get him with 25, 34, 60, and the 2026 1st round pick from Florida?

He’ll need an extension too.

Love to have him......why would Dallas be getting rid of him?

Dallas is in win now mode. I don’t think they want picks or prospects which is all the Hawks have. Robertson is signed at a reasonable cap hit for one more year and the cap is gonna go up another 8 million. Dallas can certainly trade other players first to clear cap. Hawks can grab Dumba with a future 2nd rounder and let him play the TJ Brodie role for a season for example.

“Do the Blackhawks have a big surprise in store for Round 1?

Chicago is set to pick at No. 3. After Matthew Schaefer and Michael Misa are all but guaranteed to go 1-2, the Blackhawks will be the first fascinating selection of the night.

Do they go center, or wing?

When the scouting combine in Buffalo was wrapping up, it sounded like Chicago was zeroed in on either Moncton Wildcats center Caleb Desnoyers or Brampton Steelheads winger Porter Martone.

Martone's stock has risen even further since the start of June, and while it may have been the Blackhawks' inclination to go center, could they pass on Martone at this point? He's 6-3 and 207 pounds, brings a physical edge, creative playmaking, a great shot and terrific hands. Martone collected 37 goals and 98 points in 57 games last season as the Steelheads' captain, and scouts rave about his overall ability and potential to excel in the NHL.

Chicago already has one exemplary young center in Connor Bedard. While it's tempting to add another potential standout at the position, the draw of what Martone could bring might just be too much on which to pass. -- Shilton”

I’ve been out of the loop since the Kane / Toews dynasty days. How close are the Hawks to being good? With Bedard and a top 3 pick along side him, is another dynasty brewing?

Bedard needs to move to a wing. He does a lot of good things....winning a faceoff isn't one of them. Actually, no one on the team is any good at it....only team in the league that loses more faceoffs than the Hawks is Anaheim. That's a lot of possessions to give up and a trend that has to end. They need a center who can score and win faceoffs. Misa is that guy. Over pay. Offer 3 and 25, see what that does and add 34 or a player if needed to move up.

Too early to tell. They are going about it the right way. Tore it down to the studs and are building it back up with a clear blueprint in hand. Not all rebuilds are successful but the path is set.

As I said elsewhere: I'd be happy with either Frondell or Martone.

I was just thinking, the way to get Misa is probably to trade up to #6,7 from 25.

If Islanders can get Hagans at 6(Misa, Schaefer, Martone, Desnoyers, Frondell)

And you can offer #3 and Hagans,

I think that would be enough. But that's what it would take.

I do think we have the draft capital to do it and Misa is our guy.

Frondell would be the perfect complement to Bedard
So too Martone. .

The issue is giving up the potential best players in the draft in Hagans and Desnoyers who can run their own top 6 line.

The only thing I don't like is trading too far back we don't get one of these top 6-8 prospects.

Like picking 9 or 12 because we love somebody weird.

Should have signed Bedard before the draft if we are picking for him.
