How would you feel (and more importantly, who would you take) if the draft plays out like the following:

Note: You are not allowed to trade down; the Bears MUST make a selection.

01) Tampa Bay: QB Jameis Winston
02) Tennessee: DE Leonard Williams
03) Jacksonville: OLB Dante Fowler
04) Oakland: WR Kevin White
05) Washington: NT Danny Shelton
06) New York: OLB Shane Ray
07) Chicago: ....

While I think there is a high probability that Mariota goes as high as #2 to Tennessee or #6 to New York, questions about his transition to the pro game could cause him to tumble a bit. Everyone assumes that Danny Shelton will be there at #7 for the taking, but Washington has legitimate concerns at NT as well and could snatch him up before we get a chance.

In this instance, where do you go?

9ers might be clamoring over Cooper in this scenario or Browns/Bills with Mariota. If i had to pick a player though... Vic Beasley. He's got great strength/explosion, he already has some solid pass rush moves and he uses his size/leverage very well. Dupree is slightly more of a project at this point. I'd be fine with Beasley/Dupree/Gregory or even Mariota there.

Again, no trades are allowed. This is a worst case scenario projection.

I just take Mariota. He's got questions but potential starting QBs are hard to find. Not an issue because if teams ahead of us want something other than a QB somebody trades up to get him. Worst case is that you can trade him within 10 minutes if a deal couldn't get done by the pick. After his combine, he's cemented his spot as the #2 QB. His drops were as good as anyone outside of Winston and Petty. Hundley also looked good and Grayson will wait for his pro day but Mariota looked solid enough that teams will want him earlier and I wouldn't mind if it were us. Will be interesting to see how he does with the deep ball on his pro day.

No trades are his rules not mine! IN all seriousness, if Mariotta is still on the board, you have to consider a trade down, hell you if you don't move down too far you can still find yourself in a spot to nab Beasley or Dupree. You get your edge rusher and a stack of picks to rebuild the roster.

People think trading is easily accomplished #shakemyhead

It's the same as those that claim they would have traded back in the Benson draft ... With who? A drugged out GM that has no clue?? There aren't too many of those in the NFL guys.

But if no trade, I guess Randy Gregory. Why is he still on the board? Too light? Dead hooker and bag of cocaine in the trunk of his car?

Beasley or Gregory.

Ending up with Beasley really isn't a worse case scenario thing though.

That always annoys me how people say we should of traded that pick for more picks or whatever like trading is easily done.

"Why can't I trade down? HURHURHURHUR!1"

Because, well, it is a WORST CASE SCENARIO thread. For whatever reason - meteors, Bieber Fever, disinterest - a fair trade opportunity doesn't develop during the draft.

You have to make a selection.
