1st: Chubb/Nelson, Davenport/Edmunds, Ward/Jackson/Alexander, Ridley/Sutton/Kirk

2nd: Carter/Landry/Key/Burns(Burks Vandy)/Nwosu/Vander Esch/ Warner(LB), Oliver/Hughes/Jackson(CB), Chark/Moore/Greene/St Brown(WR)

3rd/4th: Cruikshank/Hill(CB), Sweat/Turay/Fitts/Holmes/Street/Thomas/Thompson/Young(Edge Rusher), Ateman/Cantrell/Cobbs/Smith(WR)

5th/6th: Stroman/Nickerson/Maddox/Haley/Dawson/Brown (CB), Thomas/Griffin/Jacobs/Kalambayi/Avery(LB), Nnadi/Aruna/Jones/Hill/Shephard(DL)
Lacy/Tate/Valdes-Scantling/Wims(WR)

Just a little research for some to examine, some of the rounds may be off a bit but that’s guesstimates based off of my college football knowledge & potential of the players..
Opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one some are just bigger & stinkier than others...

Hey Sphinx, how do you feel about the hybrids? Fitzpatrick and James...

I like them but I don’t know if they have the hips for outside CB’s.
I’m biased about James being a Seminole fan but little known story Minkah almost flipped to
FSU before Signing day so I’ve always liked & followed his career.
Minkah is better in coverage, James is better in and around the line of scrimmage.

I see Minkah as more of the FS/NB coverage guy that will fit the run.
James is the SS/NB more of that big nickel thumper that supports the run & can cover..

Just a matter of what you prefer or need in your defensive backfield.
Think James/Sean Taylor, Fitz/Ed Reed/Mike Brown

Before we drafted Jackson & Amos stepped up I dreamed of Derwin in our backfield as our starting FS/SS
Now I’m torn because we don’t need a Safety per say, but either one would be a playmaker.
I believe we should go Nelson, or Edmunds at 8, but I wouldn’t be upset with Fitz or Derwin...

This is great feedback. Considering how much teams pass these days, having James or Fitzpatrick in a big nickel package would be exciting. I think Fangio could move these guys around and use them to help disguise what he's up to because of their flexibility. I can see James covering big receivers like Jeffery or Benjamin, thumping in the run game, handling TEs and blitzing effectively off the edge. Minkah can do a lot of the same things and probably offers a bit more in outside coverage. I don't see these guys as luxury picks but as the type of weapons teams need in this era of football.

They’re definitely versatile defenders bigger versions of the Honeybadger.

I believe Minkah will make more plays on the ball in the air.
James more the enforcer/physical presence.

I honestly think Edmunds could be the next great Bear MLB learning from Trevathan,
Then blitzing or dropping on 3rd downs, with a Landry or Carter & Floyd on 3rd downs,
Talk about confusion on defense, then add a NB with speed, agility & coverage ability in 5th 6th.

Edmunds would be an excellent pick too. I have no issue shooting for that type of ceiling.

A start in the draft like this would work for me...

1. James or Fitz - Hybrid
2. Arden Key - Edge
4. T. Smith UCF - WR
4. Orlando Brown Jr. - OT

Brown scares me because of his workout, I like Cohen’s old teammate at A & T, Brandon Parker as a swing tackle.

Hadn’t seen prodays results yet..

They still aren’t awesome measurables but he improved in every category. He played 3 years of really good football at LT in the Big 12. His dad wasn’t a workout warrior either but he was good on Sundays.

Good question but he sounds like Johnny Knox.
If you can get him in the 5th or 6th take a flyer on Knox 2.0.
About 5 other teams are bringing him in for visits...

If you made me bet right now.

Nelson is going to fall to us and we are going to pick him.

Unless we get a FA to replace Sitton that's what I'm thinking. We either move up for Nelson, he falls to us or we go McGlinchey (there are others I'd take instead but I think the ND connection plays into it).
