Clemson QB Deshaun Watson said he did not work out for #Bears or visit. They did go heavy at his pro day.

Mitch Trubisky says he was surprised #Bears didn't put him through workout or bring him in for a pre-draft visit.

Looks like ESPN is going through layoffs this morning, Ed Werner was one of the ones let go.

That is condescending trub did have a private workout however Watson didn't ?

Watson has the most on field tape. They know what he has. They also were heavy at Watson's pro day. Can't say that about any other prospect.

Lattimore is right in line with Pace's first 2 1st round picks-risky, high upside, rare athletes. He seems to be the experts pick, and that makes sense. That said, I would lean towards his top 3 being Garrett, Adams and Thomas. All three are clean prospects with high floors and high ceilings.

And I still think it's possible that Allen is in the mix, though the medical may have dropped him. Kind of like last year where there was a lot of talk about Bosa falling, Allen was pretty much the consensus #2 player in this draft and is an absolute ideal fit for the Bears system.

We shall see.

Yes they spent more time with Kizer and that's a fact

Bases on the past 2 drafts Hooker is more in line with Pace's picks

Because we missed on every quality db in fa. So it is an obvious area of concern for pace so they have us picking the best db. Just because they signed to bum dbs doesn't mean he solved the problem. Missing out in fa killed us. And same goes for qb just because we signed two bums doesn't mean he fixed the issue. So those two positions stand out more then most

I agree it's still A NEED, but not THE HIGHEST need. Safety & QB are the biggest needs. A CB is not a captain like Adams will be. BOTH CB & S are deep in the draft however, so 1st Rd. talent will be avail in 2nd, possibly 3rd. I'd love Adams, but regardless, I doubt Pace will take anybody like Lattimore with significant injury history that early. I hope not at least. Like I said, need a HIT in this rare early draft position, not a huge gamble.

He gambled in a different way...on raw talent but huge athleticism in the 1st the last few years, but not injury risks.

That said, he could gamble on a QB, likely not at 3, but after tradedown IMO. Get picks and his raw athlete. I'd be good with Watson or Kizer in 1st, otherwise dev. QB later if his can't miss stud is avail in 1st wherever that ends up.

You're not drafting for the biggest need in the top 5. You're drafting for impact.

NFLN, the bears are Fielding a ton of phone calls for their pick. They are in meetings now going through all the various scenarios.

They like a cloud of players in the middle of the first and another at end of it.

Drafting players with injury history. Yellow card possibly, Red card no chance

Both Lattimore and Hooker fit with Pace's previous 1st round picks. Just haven't heard much of any buzz about the Bears and Hooker. Doesn't mean he's not in the conversation, but there's been a lot more smoke around Adams.

enjoy it while it lasts though because eventually lobbyists will get this stopped. Its already slowly happening with how they can monitor everything you do on the internet. They just have to get the tech to a point where they can easily catch people streaming to cut off their internet. Another tactic is going to be limited data, which comcast has already done. I fall else fails, they will just increase the cost of internet to a ridiculous amount so you will want to bundle. Since most places only have one choice it won't be hard to do.

Agreed, Fournette it is.

How so? How much better could be really be then Howard? I mean we're talking about a guy who averaged 5.2 yards a carry! On a team with no passing game. Fournette is a great prospect, but it's not like he brings a different skill set then Howard. a running back who isn't elite in the passing game is not worth a 1st round pick in today's NFL.

You're not drafting for the biggest need in the top 5. You're drafting for impact.

You completely ignored my points about hit/miss/risk & injury as well as IMPACT of a QB & Safety > CB. Both are captains on the field, barking out plays, routes/coverages. More impact than CB. We might just disagree on that.

Crazy draft with so much talent, so many needs, and unknown trade possibilities.

-------

If moving down means getting an extra 1st next year, they could gamble on their QB falling (if not Mitch -likely not). If that fails & they miss on Watson/Kizer, can still grab a mid Rd QB this year with a decently high ceiling and package to move up in next year's 1st for A1 QB prospect. All while getting extra picks in this deep draft.

Also, on Fournette, there hasn't been a whisper of the Bears meeting with him. Maybe they are keeping it secret, but I'm having a hard time buying the Fournette stuff. He's a one dimensional power back. He's nowhere close to Adrian Peterson, which would have to be the bar for me to even consider that kind of back into the 1st round, let alone the top 3.

Fournette has the ability to hit home run at any time from any point in the field Howard doesn't. Last I checked TDs decide outcomes games.
